Prof. Pardee cares deeply about his role as an educator, and wants to prepare students for all aspects of life outside of film school. Seems like he would be great to have as an adviser or mentor. Content was really difficult for me to grasp- he moved pretty quickly through the material. Ask questions or for help outside of class! He will help you!

Comment:

Rodger Pardee is one of my favorite people in the film department - witty, fun, and really cares about his students. Start projects early so you aren't in the lab till 5am on due day... His class was pretty lecture-heavy and I wish it was more hands-on, but I would take from Rodger again in a heartbeat even though sound isn't my specialty.

He's amazing and I honestly feel like he cares about me as a student and that I succeed in my professional career. He's such a wonderful person and as long as you pay attention and try your best, you'll be fine in his class.

Rodger is great, very knowledgable, and is a total sound nerd. I'm a prod major and I took his Sound of Movies class, which was extremely easy. Very interesting, if you like sound, class consists of clip analysis and there are weekly 1pg journals, 1 presentation, and an open ended project at the end, with 2or3 quizzes. Easy A for the 398 class.

Hands down, Rodger is one of the best professors at Loyola Marymount's Film School. He is respected by students and has a plethora of essential industry knowledge that he shares with students. I was not interested in the class but his lectures were engaging and fascinating, always there outside of class, projects were helpful and interesting. TAKE!

Pardee's one of my favorite teachers at LMU. He really knows his stuff, and he's enthusiastic about helping out his students. He wants you to enjoy sound design. He's very passionate but is also very patient and will go over things to make sure you get it.

THE BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD! This man deserves more than a reward for what he has done. He has single-handedly completely astounded me for help and guidance. If you are EVER lost for anything RECA related go to him! He is the best and is my favorite teacher that I have ever had in my entire life! 10/10 would totally recommend!

Real stand up guy who seems to really care about his students. Was the first film professor I had who really spent time discussing the overall industry and hardships associated with it. I highly recommend Rodger if you want to learn a lot about sound.

I love Roger! He is an amazing teacher and amazing person! He is so nice and helpful. I learned to much useful sound stuff that I can now use in my films. Roger is one of my favorit teachers of all time!!! Can't say enough good stuff about this guy! TAKE THIS CLASS if you want to learn allot about sound!!! :) :) :)

At the beginning of the semester I was doing horribly and thought i was going to fail. I got terrible grades on the first project and quiz. Pardee was so nice and let me redo the project. He really cares and wants us to understand the material. I'm now doing awesome in the class. He has worked on a lot of movies and knows what he is talking about.

AWESOME!! His classes are interesting if you're into If something is confusing you, ask/go to office hours. He's always available, gives study guides, provides a lot of feedback on projects, really genuine guy. Grades a little hard but it's not an easy job

Roger is a very nice guy but very tough to read as a person. He's very PC. His tests were hard and read the text if you want to do well. I liked his projects a lot though. RECA 250 as a class might need a revamp in terms of cirriculum, but that has little to do with Roger.

This class is as tough as you make it. If you pay attention and you give yourself enough time to do the projects (or if you're good at doing things well if you procrastinate) you'll be fine. Professor Pardee is a GREAT guy, REALLY helpful, lenient, and always available if you need help. He really cares about his students! I recommend him A LOT!!!!

Challenging class but never impossible. Pardee leaves a lot of room for creativity on the projects for the class, and he's always around for questions. Really colorul powerpoints and teaching methods. Highly recommended overall.
