Sue is an amazing professor. I learned more about ethics and philosophy from her than in my philosophy class. Be prepared to do weekly readings. These readings are balanced out by in-class screenings of movies and tv shows that present ethical dilemmas. Sue is unique in that you argue for what grade you should receive at the end of the course.

Professor Scheibler was awesome for Honors Beyond Good and Evil. I genuinely learned alot about Ethics in her class (through watching movies and tv nonetheless) and the workload/grading was definitely manageable. She even lets you suggest your own grade!

I don't mean to be harsh or confuse anyone as most of her ratings are high, but although Sue is a super nice, caring person, her teaching style was just really different and hard for me to adjust to. If you are someone who is used to highly structured classes (AP/IB), you may get frustrated or impatient. It just depends on your learning style.

Immediately my favorite teacher from first semester. Sue is brilliant, hilarious, and caring. Her writing feedback was always focused and helpful. Her discussions were always fascinating, too. There's a reason Honors kids love the first-year seminar "On the Technological Sublime," and the answer is Sue Scheibler. (Plus, you may watch Spongebob!)

Sue is a really cool person and the class was very interesting. Her teaching style is more discussion based, and she can be a little muddled, but she is at the very least a great person who wants to actively see her students succeed. I would very much recommend taking any classes she teaches.

She is phenomenal. Looked forward to and loved every single class. She made each class fascinating and unique. Gives you all the readings as PDFs so you don't have to pay for anything. She loves and rewards creativity. Only three papers and readings aren't really mandatory. Amazing class, all-time favorite class.

Sue is the best! She's so sweet and funny and loves seeing her students succeed. Her class is amazing--she has such great taste when it comes to TV shows too, which is the entirety of the class so it was great. If you can, get to know her as much as possible because she's one of the coolest professors ever. Love her!

Sue is such a wonderful human being! She cares about her students so much, and she has so many cool stories! This class was difficult but rewarding, 3 papers, a presentation, and lots of reading, but there's no final. If you're willing to put the effort into this class, I would recommend it!

By far one of the best professors I had this semester. She made this semester enjoyable, and her class was always something to look forward to. If you have the chance to take any of her classes, you should. I learned a lot in her class, and it wasn't as much as a pain to learn as other classes.

Dr. Scheibler is a very cool person and fun to be in class with. I had my freshman seminar with her and it was a very engaging and interesting class. I feel like she grades very fairly on papers too. I didn't put much effort into my first one and did pretty badly, but tried much harder later on and did much better.

Sue is really laid back and wants to make sure everyone in the class is having an enjoyable time. There are three 5-7 pg papers due and one 8-10 page final. She assigns very long readings, but there are no quizzes on them and you don't talk about them in class. However, they are crucial to getting a good grade on the papers.

Such a cool teacher. Had a 2 page paper every week, but each was on a TV show of our choice, so it was not that hard. Also, she is really chill with the due dates, so late papers are OK. During class, we would literally just watch TV for two hours and have a discussion for the other half an hour. Great teacher.

The coolest professor I've had. She's extremely chill and her class is very easy, but don't let that fool you. She is extremely intelligent and knows literally ANYTHING about movies/tv. It's great.
