Comment:

Hughes is a good professor. The class is pretty straightforward and easy to pass if you show up and take notes. There's one essay which relatively easy, and he covers what's going to be on the quizzes the day of. The study guides for the midterm and final tell you exactly what you need to know. However, he won't let you in the class if you're late.

If you show up and pay attention you'll pass. A text book isn't required, notes and readings are online. I recommend taking notes though, there is little to no HW , the quizzes are based on what we went over in class the same day. He gives a study guide for midterm and final, practically telling you what's on it . He even has a optional review sesh

Hughes is a good guy. Dry sense of humor but that's ok, after all he is not a comedian he is a professor and he does a great job. Get to class on time, do the homework even if he will not collect it, and study for your exams.

Great guy. Some days are long days("I Claim") lol. But seriously the guy knows his material, do what he says and you will thrive. No one and I mean NO ONE should fail this class. Study the homework for the quizzes and the quizzes for the test. Then study the test for your final.

I took Prof. Hughes for Intro to Philosophy, fast track. If you take notes, participate, and always attend, you don't have to buy the book. I didn't and got an A. Don't be late! If you always show up 2 mins late to class, find another teacher! And follow the rubric for the paper for the class and it's an easy A.

He even tells you on the first day, it is close to impossible to NOT pass his class, even fast track. The only way you can fail is to never going to class & not doing anything. The 7 quizzes are all on lecture of that day. No homework, just one 5-7pg final essay and 2 midterms... His study guides have all the questions on them.

Although I dreaded taking this class, it became one of my favorites of the semester! Hughes is a highly intelligent professor who provides interactive, in-class extra credit, which is both fun and rare in college. If he offers an optional test review-GO! Some of the questions will be on the tests. Would definitely take another class with Hughes!

Be on time if you care to pass otherwise he'll tell you to leave. Very easy class just show up. Quiz every two weeks on what we did in class the class prior. HOT nerd! Great Professor! Do homework, and a fair amount of studying (this is college) and you will get an A! Is available before and after class for clarification, wants his students to succeed and understand. Don't be late! Its a pet peeve for him and he will lock you out. Show him you care about success and he will help you succeed!

He goes thru lessons quickly(which I'm not complaining about).bothered me that most of the class didn't understand somethng,& was still askng practically the entire class to stay after class to review. He is very rude & sometimes inpatient.-I've also never seen so many students drop w/in the 1st 3wks,including myself.

Make sure you know what you are in for!!! This class is very similar to Algebra--formulas and terms to know. I would recommend watching You Tube videoes to get the gist of Logic and Reason. He is sometimes boring, just jump into the discussions to make the class pass faster! Test are fair, just study notes. Tests have lots of essay answers, so study up on the topics!!!
