She is one of the harder professors here, but she is a really good one. She really understands the material. Explains it very well, but make sure you don't miss class, some concepts are very hard to understand if you don't show up to class.

Comment:

One of the best profs in the ECE department. However, her comms courses are fairly easy; you can ace the test as long as you do the homework problems at least once. Your grade is not curved and is the average of the three exams.

She is a great teacher, explains everything and very knowledgeable about her subject. Not a hard grader. You MUST do the homework, essential to passing the course. If you screw up on even one exam, don't expect to get a good grade. Only 3 midterms. No final exam! No curves!

Comment:

Professor Katz is a wonderful instructor who teaches circuits with a lot of clarity. she is approachable and answers every question. Her homework problems WILL prepare you well for her exams, however some problems can be difficult, and some easy. Her exams are extremely fair, and she grades nicely since there isn't a curve. You don't need the book.

Truly a intelligent and helpful professor! she made the lectures direct and helpful no extra info thrown in to confuse you. Her hw was tough but they prepared you for her exams which were really fair. Just make sure to do her hw and you'll pass her course with a b at least! As a heads up she does say she will not curve any part of the class

This professor maintains a strict grade scale with no curving whatsoever. However, partial credit is fair, and material is explained clearly in class. Concepts are tough however, and if you fall behind, it is hard to catch up. Class based on all mini-tests; no final. I would recommend her. She teaches very well, and is easy to follow.

Great class structure for this class. No major tests, instead about 12 quizzes and 2 projects. You will not be overloaded to cram for a test. Fairly easy to get an A or a B. Homework no collected in or graded but she posts the solutions. Quizzes are just like the homework, understand it and you will get an A. Looking forward to taking her again.

I don't know what the deal is with the person who did the 12-16-12 review. Anyways. Her class is very structured, her notes are clear and her homeworks are like the notes. She doesn't collect homework because we are not 5. One of the best professor in that department. Take her you will not regret it.

Had her for 340 and 350. She is a pretty awesome professor. The exams are exactly like the homework, just do the homework a million times and you should be fine. She has a lot knowledge in Communications and is willing to answer questions outside of class on industry. She usually does not curve unless the class as a whole is just doing terrible.

Her lectures are OK but she grades way too had on quizzes and test. In her class she gives a quiz every week and she collects pspice once a week. don't take her if you are not an ECE major because you will not pass.

She's way over rated. She really makes a mess of the board and spent way too much time just crunching Algebra instead of focusing on design & concepts. You won't realize how little you get from her till you take ECE 440. UCLA students had same complaints of her. Avoid her like the plague & take Mallard !! Her tests are basic HW probs.

Professor Katz is perhaps one of the most clear, concise professors I've ever had. However, it's very true that every single point counts because there is virtually no curve. Also, the tests are based on homework, which she does not collect, but do anyway if you want to pass.

Katz is an amazing teacher. I've never had a teacher explain the material so well. The book is completely useless because you leave every single class understanding exactly what is going on. The tests are easy because they are exactly what she has gone over , no surprises. I would highly recommend her if you want to understand the material.

By far, one of the best EE professors at CSUN. Very clear and thorough. Some homework problems are somewhat challenging, but prepare you very well for the exams. Take as many classes as you can with Prof. Katz.

She is definitely a very good professor. Her class is straightforward. One piece of advise redo the homeworks over and over before the test. As long as you understand the homework you will have no problem on the tests at all. The tests are straightforward, you will have seen every problem on the test either from lecture or from homework.
