Make sure you get the book, cuz youll really need it. She uses a lot of illustrations to the point that even a visual learner wouldnt understand what shes talking about. Honestly, its better to just learn the content yourself rather than attending lectures and being confused.

Dr. Novak is a professor you take if you ready to learn, she is straight forward and dont expect to pass unless you actually studying. Do the reading and dont skip class, would I take her again of course. She will educate you but you wont pass unless you study and actually get the material.

I had Stacy as an advisor and she wasn't very helpful. I had her for a section in my intro bio class for Plant Bio. A lot of drawing, diagrams and memorizing. I did really well in her section but I know a lot of people didnt enjoy her teaching.

Boy was this class something else. I get anxiety with quiet and dull situations. This class was so lecture heavy and monotone I just kept getting anxiety attacks. The material is ridiculous because theres no introduction to it. I came in as a freshman to this class when everyone was a junior/senior but still.. Intro please??

if in an auditorium she decides to draw things in the smallest white board ever, and if it's not there she gets mad. personally, she wasn't too fond of certain students. my advice is to not even attend class and learn yourself. illustrations are too messy to comprehend. worst experience for me, goodluck

She tends to only teach through illustrations which can be heard if you're not a particularly visual learner. You pretty much have to read and teach yourself if you actually want to pass with a decent grade plus she's really boring so you'll most likely fall asleep in class

Very friendly woman and answers any questions when asked. Tests and quizzes are based on lecture and drawings, PPTs consists of pictures from the book that she'll explain in lecture. Make sure you avoid daydreaming and try to listen to her every word during lecture. Recommended to read chapters before lecture.

I love her! At first it seemed impossible to pass her class, but later you get used to her class. Just read the chapter before the class, and you will do fine! Also, do the study guides and take it seriously. Meet with her before test/quiz and go over study guide because she tells you what you need to focus. The professor is super nice!

One of the best professors there is. Definitely knows her stuff and is more than willing to explain in more detail if further clarity is needed. Do the work and it will pay off. Tests are straight from study guide. If you don't put the effort in, don't expect to be carried.

Dr. Novak definitely knows her stuff, but be ready to work and learn if you take her classes. You will not cruise to an A here. Fair, but no free rides.

She's okay in 203 and in Plant... but she rushes through topics, talks down to students and makes them feel dumb, doesn't test fairly half the time... I hated this class like no other.

I took her for general bio (203) and plant (204). At first I really didn't like her because she's hard to keep up with, but if you read the book and listen you can get it. Also she goes on tangents, but after a while (esp if you read the text) you can filter things out. She is a little strange but she is happy to explain and is pretty nice.

Dr Novak is a wonderful teacher she knows her stuff when it comes to plants but when it comes to animal systems she can get a little confusing so i suggest reading the book if there are no plant references in lecture

Let me just start off by saying I am glad I will not have to take another one of her classes. She is unclear and rushes through topics. I understand that the class should be hard, but the level of detail she requires on tests is insane and her study guides only cover about 80% of the test and even then questions are never asked in the same way.

She is frantic in lecture most of the time. Rushing through the concepts, not making sense, but making you accountable for knowing it at the end. In comparison to other professors, she has a long way to go. I pitty her and anybody who has to take one of her classes.

Excellent instructor. Very Helpful. I can't believe the weak student who trashed her on this site. She rocks.... And I'm not saying that because she gave me an A.... I earned and received a B.

She is just a horrible professor. I do not know how she has received any positive comments at all. I have worked my ass off in her class since day one. No I am not lazy and I do have a high GPA yet I still think she is the worst professor. She knows her stuff but can't explain at all. Most bio majors have a problem with her at ulv.

She's alright. You'll do fine if you listen to her lecture and do everything on her study guide. Although, I have to admit she is helpful and is always willing to work with you.
