Carter is a trip. She will be rude. So if you get your feelings hurt, don't take the class. But her speeches are pretty easy. She tells you what she wants multiple times. If you follow the guide lines she gives you, you'll get an A. Volunteer; she likes that. Listen to others and STAY OFF YOUR PHONE. I liked her so much (fav prof), others didn't.

I dropped public speaking twice prior to Dr. Carter because I was terrified to speak in front of people. Dr. Carter's witty and sarcastic attitude definitely helped me because I knew there was no getting out of it I just had to do it. Very funny lady! I recommed taking her! Only 4 speeches!

I absolutely loved this class. It was a pretty fun and helpful class. The clarity is a bit poor because she SPEAKS to you the assignment instead of writing it on the board. Then again she does say "This is a public speaking class and I want to improve your listening skills). The class itself is pretty easy. Just be prepared and come to class

The only thing good about this class is she only requires 4 speeches as opposed to 6. She is very rude and thinks she knows everything, so try to get on her good side. When it came time for teacher evals, she claimed she didn't get any bc she always gets high reviews. Also, she posted my grade as an F bc she forgot who I was. She corrected it later

Suzanne Carter is by far the worst teacher I have encountered while at college. She in contradictory of what she tells you she wants, compared to what she grades like. She chooses favorites and doesn't grade them on as hard a scale as others. I got 15 points taken off for two minutes over on a speech, 1 of her faves got a 98 when he was 2 min under

She picks favorites. If you are not one of the chosen ones, then you cannot do anything right. She fully admits to absolutely hate giving A's. She will miss things in your speech and try to deduct points for it. She is very blunt and often gives wrong facts. However, she does not require a book.

Took her for public speaking. She's very arrogant and thinks she knows everything. Doesn't make you buy any books but very confusing with directions and grading scale on speech. Plays favorites. Overall, not super hard but she's pretty unfair.

Carter is fairly interesting. However, she is not clear with her grade scale. She gives you a bunch of pointless daily assignments in which is SUPPOSE to count for a % of your grade and never does. I did well on all my speeches and the very last one she did not like my opinion so she gave me enough to knock me down a letter grade. She is unfair.

I loved this class the most this semester... I promise Carter had something illegal in her blood stream. She was entirely too cool to be a professor. She was so easy. Basically if you want to do good do what she asks. How hard is it to talk and use interesting language? She has to be the easiest of all speaking profs.

Ugh... do not take her. I am an A student and her grading is SOO unfair. Basically, if she likes you, you get an A. If she doesn't, you fail! She took off 15 pts from my speech because it was 30 seconds too short! What the crap?! Shes mean, senile, and wears the weirdest clothes and ALWAYS has lipstick on her teeth!

obviously public speaking is not a fun class for most, but honestly she should retire. I wrote a really good speech for her class and she gave me a C because i "didn't use enough interesting words"? she is picky and is not scared to embarass you in front of the entire class. i dropped her class, and for any who take her...good luck

I LOVE this class.my absolute favorate class,I wake up excited about this class. Ms. Carter is hilarious, she cancels class a lot cause of her theater business or whateva. You only have to do like 4 graded speeches its really a breeze, but if youre shy then it may not be as easy.She can sometimes be critical,but only when necessary

Please spare yourself! She's a mean spirited person! I'm a 3.5 gpa student and i graduate next month. She treated me like a child and degraded me at any chance she got. I don't know why she attempts to intidmidate her students, but it is very counterproductive and she's a sad excuse for a professor. She has no social skills/seeks to demean students
