First of all, I wouldn't recommend his course if you don't have some background in French, it's not a true beginners course. Aside from that, he's really engaging in class and wants you to love the language the way he does. His love of the material makes it fun and less of a chore. Beware of the syllabus, don't expect him to stick to the schedule.

Dont take if you dont have prior experience in a french class. He is very vague. He takes less then 10 minutes to learn something new. His syllabus doesn't go over what homework you should do when. Be engaged at all time or you wont understand anything.

Awful. Harsh grader and gives you WAY too much work. theres no time in class to go over stuff. You will not know your grade in his class!!! HE WILL NOT PUT THEM IN. Then when you ask him for your grade, he will get mad at you. His teaching style is like a 5000 level course, when in reality we are in a 1100 course. Beware. He's tough and mean.

Express to him that you want to learn French. He is more then willing to help all of his students. Attending class really helps and is 15% of your grade. Quizzes are easy! Homework is also easy! I would take him again and highly recommend him! You just gotta be willing to learn like in any other class!

DONT DO IT!!! For real unless you're majoring in French, I wouldn't take his class. He is a super tough grader and he expects you in the intro french classes to be relatively fluent already. He doenst ever tell you about homework that you have to do until it is already past due. His whole syllabus is in French so if you cant read it you are screwed

He is fine I just wish he did not talk in French so much. Yes I know it is a language class but the course I took is supposed to be at a beginners level and I am always clueless as to what directions he is giving. Studying is a must, you need about 2 hrs of studying a day for this class or you will fall behind and hate your life.

Very Interesting, likes to joke about inappropriate things, but his goal is to keep you interested. He will try his hardest to help you, and if you really try and participate, he will notice and this will boost your grade. He does his best for his students and is a very nice person in general. Besdies dont expeect any french class to be easy.

Very nice person but not extremely helpful. Deadlines for assignments were not clear and I never felt prepared for tests. About half of my class dropped throughout the semester and I'm wishing I had too. Not the worst professor I've had but definitely not the best. Would not recommend his class.

i absolutely LOVED him! Yes, after the first day he speaks pretty much only in french but that's because that's what the curriculum requires; it's not as if he's speaking french about irrelevant subjects. He's genuinely nice and was always available to help. It wasn't easy, but why would it be? you're learning another language! i HIGHLY recommend!!

He dresses in very tight pants, and tight neon colored v-neck shirts, the man thinks he lives in Europe. He is a good teacher, and fair (but a very harsh grader). He does make some questionable references, but it makes the class more fun. Don't expect to get an easy A, if an A at all. But a solid B is very possible. Very messy office.

He's the best french teacher I had in a while. The sections in the book are very simple, just remember certain concepts in bold print or the vocab he tells you to study for. He also hilarious, loves asking funny questions in French such as "do you smoke....." recommend!

Transitioning from entry level French with a solid A this class was extremely difficult. A 4yr equiv. of a foreign language is required for A&S, so no one intends to "waste" his time. Very hard grader. Everything is in French. Your questions on complexities and nuances of the language will be answered in French. You WILL fight for your grade.

Well, if you want to learn to speak French definently take him because he is tough. He's a very picky grader and will make you work for your grade. If you simply are taking French for a major requirement, don't waste his time.

AVOID! What a joke of a professor. After day one, no matter what level you're at, he teaches entirely in French. Luckily, I took French in high school, so I wasn't screwed. I had him twice. First time was fine and I purposely took him again. The second time he consistently told our class that we were stupid and did crack. I went from a B+ to a D-.
