While I am not a fan of Statistics, I am giving Professor Lu a 5-star rating because he is a truly inspiring professor who genuinely cares about his students. Prof. Lu is organized and genuinely cares about his students. When there was a legitimate issue with my final grade in the course, Prof. Lu sorted it out right away.

Although he seemed to enjoy stats a lot his accent was extremely hard to decipher and I rarely knew what was happening in his lectures. He posts his lecture slides online which is helpful but can still be hard to follow if you don't understand him. Keeping up to date with assignments and quizzes can really help. The final was truly awful.

Very caring and respected prof. Can easily tell he's passionate about what he's teaching. The only downside however is that I never really understood him. There is lab every week and extensive assignments. First midterm was tough, second was a breeze; make sure you know how to use minitab. For the final, definitely recommend going to a prep course.

thick accent but you get used to it. Still can't understand his lectures at all but reading his notes + reading the textbook + going to stats tutorials makes it a lot easier. He seems like a nice guy but I just cannot understand his class, probably because I'm bad at stats. There were quizzes and assignments almost every week.

Really easy class , he has an accent but after a while you start to understand him. Only went to 5 clasess in the winter semester and still aced the class. Quizess are the same as the practice ones he posts online and the midterm is really easy because he let's you use minitab. The final is a bit hard but if you study and practice you will do good.

Very thick Mandarin accent, but I could understand him. He is helpful, he provides practice quizzes, midterms, and practice finals. Quizzes and midterm was easy, final exam is tough. Provides a lot of examples in class which are taken from the textbook. Watch out for grading scale, very steep. Probably to scare the students or to drop out.

Dr. Lu is amazing. He's got an accent, so what? You'll get used to it within a week or two (if you don't skip). Everything, I reiterate... EVERYTHING, he gives you in class is all you need to do well in this course. Sample quizzes and exams are ones from previous semesters so they're pretty much going to be you're actual ones. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Lu is given a harder time than he deserves. You get used to the accent within the first week and all the tools needed to be successful are posted on Blackboard. Quizzes, practice finals and midterms are all very similar to the ones posted. His notes have multiple examples also.

Dr. Lu is awesome! He is super nice and is always willing to help you. He has a heavy accent but if you pay attention you can understand everything fine. His slides and notes are great. The textbook is kinda useless. The quizzes are easy just study his practice quizzes and midterms. People need to stop being jerks in his class and shut up, people

People either need to learn how to grow up or don't bother going to his class. His accent may be intimidating at first, but I got used to it in a week. His notes are very proficient, didn't have to use the textbook at all. Easy quizzes, easy midterm, decent final. Excellent prof!
