Great teacher! If you're a good student and do all of the work, he'll usually be gracious about letting you turn in work late. The quizzes and exams are all based on the text so you really do need the textbook for this class, you'll use it all the time. Very much a work-at-your-own-pace class, so make sure you've got the discipline for that.

Mr. Ismail is a really fantastic teacher. He's intelligent, helpful, and gives good feedback. You really need to read the text in order to do well, a lot of the test questions are on obscure things from the required reading. Definitely taking some of Ahmed's other classes, he's one of the better teachers I've had.

Great professor overall! Very good at what he does and very, very helpful! The class room time is very relaxed and the online portion is very well put together as well! Would highly recommend taking a class from him again!

I enjoyed this teacher. He was very nice and was good about taking late assignments. I took two of his classes which were relatively easy. Textbook is key to passing quizzes. He assigns a novel to read, kind of boring books. Also he can be a bit unclear and confusing with assignments but grades more than fairly.

Great professor. The class itself was pretty straightforward: go to class for lecture and maybe an in-class assignment, take an online quiz once a week, and occasionally do an essay. I found the lectures intellectually stimulating, but he does expect frequent student participation. Very nice guy and is very willing to help.

Excellent professor! I took all of his classes. I enjoyed debating fellow students and found his classes to be stimulating. I have learned so much from this man and his courses. He is genuinely interested in expanding his students knowledge and interest. He also supports students commenting in class about the subjects being covered. Take his class!

Ismail is a nice guy. Exams aren't hard if you look at what you're supposed to study from his study guides. There's hw assigned about twice a week, and he gives you a week to complete them. They are only one page term-definitions. Your hw is a great source to study from!!! I highly recommend him!

Great teacher! Possibly the best teacher I've had in college. He really knows his stuff. Oh, and because some of my friends have asked me, no he doesn't have some crazy accent that you can't understand. I highly recommend him as a teacher.

He's a really cool guy! I went into the class with no interest in Political Science and he makes it so interesting and I've learned sooo much! He's also very easy going and is very flexible when it comes to grades and giving extra time for assignments!

His lectures are really intimidating, I thought I would have to drop bcuz it seemed so hard. But he grades so easy, so much extra credit points, it's hard not to get an A. I've only liked 3 teachers in my life since kindergarten. Ismail is one of the 3. Genuinely a good person, who wants to help you gain knowledge and get smarter, loves hearing your opinions and debates, and always makes the class fun and enjoyable.

I am a history major and have to say Ismail is the best history teacher I have had. I like the way he runs his classroom with getting everyone involved. His tests are great too. I like the essay format better then multiple choice, true/false, etc. He wants to make sure that everyone has a chance at understanding the material and succeeding in class. If anyone is interested in taking a class from him I would recommend him. But, if you don't like having to have open discussions all the time be advised.

Had him for History, Poli-Si, Ethnic Studies. He was a great teacher that mad the work make sence. He was always very objective and never subjective. All around a good teacher and i wish i could take another class from him.
