Comment:
The class is easy if you take interest in Native American tribes. The lectures are very important and the exams are only lecture based. There are readings to do before each class but you can easily just skim them and know the main ideas. This class is an easy gen ed course.

Way to much reading required to pass class sometime multiple 30+ page articles per quiz. Rigorous grader, long boring lectures that require note taking.

Learned absolutely nothing in class. It was just boring powerpoint lectures that you had to take notes on and a bunch of readings every day. Random quizzes throughout the semester determines your attendance grade. On top of that the professors expected you to do in depth research on you own. I got graded down on a paper cause I used white sources

Far far too much work for what this class is worth. Tons of reading every week, graded quizzes based on said reading every lecture, and long writing assignments. If you're thinking about taking this as a gened, there are far better options.

A lot of reading assignments, although you can get away with just skimming through them for the main idea, as a lot of clicker questions for participation are based on the readings. Attendance is pretty much mandatory if you want to pass.

The nice thing about this class is that you don't really have to read. Amy clearly gives you most of the information you need in lecture, so definitely attend. She does seem like the kind of teacher who just wants to push students through, so as long as you're self-motivated, you'll be fine. Overall forgettable class and teacher.

This women actually expects you to read 80 pages, twice a week. She doesn't post lecture slides (which makes up 60% of the exams) and doesn't cover material found in the readings. Unreal amount of work needed just to keep up with the class. Upper Division Biology classes doesn't require this much work. AVOID.

Fatsinger is a teacher who has lost all passion for her teaching and has gone power hungry. If you make a mistake get ready to pay for it because she won't let you re do anything. The teacher aides are impossible to deal with and have no clue what they are teaching. I would not take this class ever it has nothing to do with the real world

You will do poorly if you do not like reading long, often boring booksarticles. I felt overwhelmed with the amount of reading required for this class, which did not enhance the material discussed in class. There is enough information for the lectures to easily fill up the test, however only 60% of the test questions are on lectures.

The class is hard to earn an A in, but its interesting. Long readings every other day, which are tested on. Papers are graded on how well you write rather than how well you understand the material. Try finding an easygoing TA and put effort into the class (guaranteed B). wouldn't recommend to those who havent taken English composition.

While the content was very good, I was extremely disappointed in how the tests were made, they seemed to test how well you memorized the authors of the readings names instead of any understanding of the concepts or content.

Tons of long reading assignments and only a few are interesting; clicker questions are based on the reading and count for participation points. There are only two essays, but they are not easy to write by any means. Tests aren't difficult if you do all the readingsshow up to class. Do not recommend if looking for an easy GenEd.

If you are looking for an easy "A" this is definitely not the class to take. You absolutely have to read in this class which just gets longer and more dry as the class goes on. The content is interesting but after a while just gets repetitive. There are also clicker questions every lecture. Also she does not post any of the powerpoint slides.

She refuses to upload a syllabus, power points, or even mention what you are learning, even with a legit reason for not going to class. If you miss a single class, you're screwed. She is not helpful at all. Avoid her classes. I came in expecting to start caring about American Indian Studies, and left loathing the whole topic.

I really liked professor Fatzinger. She made the class interesting and expected people to keep up as if they are in college, go figure. Some of the films were awful, but I learned a lot.

This class is pretty boring. The professor talks to you like you are in high school which gets annoying. The clicker questions in class are quiz question in the grade book and are based on the readings. She expects you to read 30-80 pages before every class, 3 times a week. So if you don't like reading, don't take this class
