He wrote the book and the tests are entirely based on the book. Hardest tests I have ever taken. Grade is made of 3 tests, a paper, and attendance. Gave no feedback on the paper. If you have an A you don't have to take the final (only one person had an A). Very confusing when he speaks but I learned a lot because of how much reading is required.

Dr. Walsh is an amazing man! He absolutely has my respect. We're very lucky to have him as a professor. If you want an easy A go elsewhere. If you actually want to be taught by someone that has done incredible work and assumes you're there to get something out of it, take him! RMP had me scared last semester. I have absolutely no regrets!

Best lectures I've ever had, but the quizzes are really hard. He rarely gives out As. He picks one topic from the book (you never know what it's going to be) then you get 10 min to write about it. If you have to have an A, take another class. If you want to learn a lot this is a great professor for you.

Incredibly difficult class. Students are graded only on tests and quizzes. There's a quiz every Thursday from the readings of his choice. Hardest tests I have ever taken. He's the only professor that teaches this course and it either makes or breaks you. STUDY A LOT.

Do NOT take this professor. Class is mandatory, quizzes every Thursday, gets butthurt when you don't read the textbook, wrote the textbook, very very difficult multiple choice tests. Small curve. If you have an A in the class you don't have to take the final (only two people had an A in the class)

Great class if you are there to learn. Don't take him if you are looking for an easy A, because you will have to work for it.

Best lectures ever! Great teacher. You will learn a ton. Not a lot of points (only 3 exams and quizzes), so you have to do well on everything to pass. Tests are very difficult, but all multiple choice. Passing, or even getting an A is very possible if you put in the time. Those complaining do neither. Utilize the TA's and his officer hours.

Class is borderline impossible to pass had class every TueThurs, quiz on Tue and got it back Thurs (if your not there Thurs you get a zero), I was excited when I got better than a 610, tests are just as difficult if not more so, and this is all that your grade consists of. No opportunity for extra credit.

It takes awhile to get used to him but once you do he is funny. You do want to read the textbook because he will know if you didnt read the information. The book you use is written by him which is a downfall in alot of ways. Tests are incredibly hard although he did curve all tests. You will learn from him is the biggest plus.

Tony the Tiger strikes again! If you didn't have enough fun in 315, you can take Walsh again for Statistics. Honestly, Walsh is the toughest professor in CJ, but you'll learn so much if you're willing to do the work. Take his class, expect to work, learn something.

One of the hardest classes you will ever take but passing isn't impossible....just be sure to study and use his office hours as an opportunity for him to clarify what you don't understand. His exams are ridiculously hard if you do.t understand what he is saying!

Walsh is a good lecturer, but it doesn't matter because his exams are ridiculously hard. The amount of work you do in this class to simply PASS is more than any other class requires to get an A+. He wont move on until the class understands the concepts, but the class is so overwhelming that its impossible to fully understand what he wants on exams.

You can read the chapter 10 times over and still will not get an 8,9, or 10 on the quizzes. And don't bother asking him about anything. He will simply refer you to the TA. Obviously doesn't care about the success of his students, too concerned with his own reputation of being a hard ass and not giving high scores to anyone.

This is a tough class and mandatory. Dr. Walsh is the only one who was teaching it so there's no way around it. Mandatory attendance - if you miss a quiz no grade. Only three exams and the last two were in the last three weeks of the semester. Not unusual for people to retake it a 2nd or 3rd time! don't challenge him or the TA's-there's no use!

Great Teacher! Will not move on unless the entire class is ready. Complete the homework is a must points are factored into test score. This is a more difficult class and requries you to put effort in but you will learn a lot. Totally recommend him for any class.

This is the worst class I have ever taken. Cannot avoid this class because he is the only one teaching it, and it is mandatory. His quizzes are extremely hard, and even if you study the chapter for HOURS, you will not get an 8-9 out of 10. His GA's dock you points on purpose because he instructs them NOT to give out many good grades.

Attendance is MANDATORY! Test are extremely hard even if you study 8 hours. GA's grade his papers and if you don't like your score, too bad. He will make it worse than it already is. Funny guy and interesting, but needs to lighten up a bit on grading.

the tests are very difficult, you can know the content. His questions don't make sense and have lots of vague answers. He has absolutely no logic to his grading and if you ask questions about it he gets defensive and offended. He also takes no responsibility for the test questions or the grades he gives. He is a terrible teacher, avoid his class.

Walsh is a very hard but fair prof. His tests are very hard and his lectures are very in depth. You makes you attend class by giving a quiz every thursday and he hands them back on tuesday and if you are not there on tuesday he throws away your quiz so attendance is a must. He knows the material but just expects you to know it.

tests are very misleading. you can study all you want but u still wont beable to decode what he is trying to get at with his test questions. the three tests are all your grade is based on. also if you try to get clarification on any questions he just gets defensive
