Art is very interested in getting to know his students. He isn't a professor that will forget you after you take a class, he tries to built a relationship with everyone. He is very understanding and helpful. His classes are all challenging, but everyone has the capability to do well. If you want to work in the profession, take a class with him.

Art is extremely valuable to those looking for a job in communications. Half of the valuable things you will learn from him don't come from the books or the class content. He is actually teaching you how to work in the industry (critical thinking, build a good portfolio, meeting deadlines, etc.). Grades fairly, not based on newspaper participation.

Very hard grader! You have to write a research paper through out the semester and he grades so hard! If people don't show up for class or if people don't participate enough he will give random pop quizzes on the chapters that were to be read. Tests are excruciatingly long and hard. Practically all written and he's very picky about answers.
