Professor Fahlman has the course set up by modules, with each module broken up into parts. Her video lectures are very helpful and she provides extra optional readings to learn more about each topic. She provides study guides for each exam and the specific photographs you need to know. If you study well, you will pass this class with a 100%.

Very nice professor and fair class. She gives you a study guide that is very helpful when preparing for the class. This class was Term A, meaning that there was a lot of videos, readings, and quizzes to do in a short amount of time. The quizzes were easy, 2 attempts each time. Tests are 30 questions, 45 mins with only a lock down browser.

She is very straightforward, responds quickly to emails, and the tests aren't hard. However, there is a lot of of writing assignments and the lectures are long. It is not a hard class to get an A if you put in the work, but you need to set a lot of time aside to devote to the course.

Betsy was very understanding when I missed an assignment. She was easy to communicate with and I felt like she actually cared about me doing well in the class. As for the class (which I took online, 8 weeks), it was pretty straightforward. Just quizzes and tests. They're pretty easy as long as you read/watch the material.

This class online is SO easy. There is not a ton of work at all and due dates are spaced out 2 weeks at a time. You basically just watch documentaries that at max are 30 mins and take quizzes on them that you can retake up to 3 times. 3 Exams & study guides have all the answers on them. EASY A. She does us Lock Down browser but no webcam required.

Really nice lady and knowledgeable in her field. Lots of work for class. My advice is to really study the images in the lectures and even watch them multiple times. Weekly exams are largely based on these images and ?s can be specific. Exams make up bulk of grades, so missing one dropped me a letter grade. Otherwise, a decent and interesting class.

If you're taking ARS-250 because you need Fine Arts course, you may want to look elsewhere. The study guides are not very detailed. Lectures help with the quizzes, but preparing for the exams is a challenge. Lots to remember and little time to do it. No opportunity for extra credit. Uses Lockdown Browser - no notes, not open book for exams.

Your success in this class depends on scheduling. Be sure to give yourself enough time to listen to the lectures and take good notes! She is a great lecturer because she is incredibly knowledgeable about photography. I definitely learned so much and wish I had taken more online ARS classes in undergrad.

Fairly easy course, pay attention to the dates and deadlines. Open up the quizzes (no time limit) & in a separate browser play the video's that correspond w/ the quiz. Google has most of the answers. Exams are limited to 45 minutes & if you use another computer can find the answers from the B.B. lessons. Professor is SO so sweet and flexible.

The grade is based on quizzes and 3 tests I believe. Youre given ample time to complete quizzes however the tests are open for 24 hours. Tests are easy if you have the book and pull up the powerpoint slides on a diff computer (she uses lockdown). All answers can be found in the book, DO NOT RELY ON GOOGLE FOR YO ANSWERS!!!! No +/-

Dr. Fahlman is a great professor, I'm shocked she received low rates! She makes you work for the grade but this class isn't mandatory so only take it if you want to learn more about women in art! The papers weren't bad at all and the test were fairly easy! u get extra credit opportunity, no reason u shouldn't get an A in the class. Dont buy book!!

Professor Fahlman was absolutely great. I was never very much into photography, but when I took her ARS 250 History of Photography, I came to respect it a lot more as an art form, but also its background. BE PREPARED TO READ!!! The textbook is huge and can be daunting, so get a head start on it. The lectures however, are easy and great!

it is very unclear as to what is going to be on exams, other than the possibility of 20 slides out of the 50-80 that you are required to study. She has no second thought to whether you have other classes or even a life. There are three 5-page papers, 2 page papers on the actual exams(that you have to memorize prior) and more but running out of spac

A question from her test - what were the color of the shoes in a specific photograph? My first paper I got back was a D, not for the content but for arbitrary quirks she has about the format of the paper. This course is less about an education in Art History, it's about her feeling almighty and having you memorize stupid details to stump you.

Wonderful professor, very tough class! She seems to really care for her students. She worked with me when I was having trouble with the research papers, and really saved my grade. Tests are tough, but if you can remember the last name of the artist and the title of the piece, that takes care of most of the questions. Would definitely recommend her!

Took ARS 250 online because it was a required course for BFA majors. A bit leery about taking a History course online. It was a piece of cake and I learned a lot. Be prepared to read and watch a few videos. Some can be as long as an hour, but they are interesting. Easy as long as you follow the syllabus. Pay attention to test dates and times.

If you're interested in photography, you'll find this course interesting. But it's also a very time-consuming course in that it requires a lot of reading and quiz-taking. The tests are based explicitly on that which is covered in video lectures, but those videos can be ten to twenty-five minutes each.

Easy class. Watch the videos in the background while doing something else, then take the ten question quiz of mostly logic and process of elimination. I had to set aside very little time for this class and it fit easily into my schedule. Pay attention to the dates and times that the exams are open.
