Super nice guy. Really cares about his students and is very accommodating. The grade is entirely exams and theres absolutely no tricks - if you know what youve been told to know, youll do well. He really just comes off as wanting students to learn for the sake of learning and thats the highest praise I can give a professor.

Best professor I've had at UNC. If you love Biology, I'm sure you will agree. His exams are very much like the sample exams and are extremely fair. He gives very interesting lectures and has fun days of no working too. Very caring for his students and gives extra credit. No homework, so make sure you keep up with the readings and it is not too hard

Bob is the man. He's a great lecturer and makes the material super easy to understand. You should definitely show up to class since most of the test material is from lecture, but that also means you don't have to read much of the book. Super chill guy, easy grader, and fun in class.

PLEASE TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. The best professor I have taken so far. This course consists of 4 exams each worth 25% of your grade. Lectures are amazing! you should definitely go to class because the exams are half info covered in lectures and half book info. There is a lot of reading, but all helpful. He presents difficult info in an easy way.

This class was great. Dr. Goldstein really wants all his students to do well, and he listens to feedback. We did pretty cool stuff in class, and the tests were not too bad. Reading the book is required because 10% of the test comes from the book, and some chapters we do not cover in class at all. Keep up with the reading and you'll do well!

Comment:
His lectures were kinda monotonous. He has a way of lecturing sometimes that makes it sound like what he's saying is superfluous information but it shows up on the test. Also he mentions things in lecture for about 30 seconds and then it'll show up on the test, which is all short answer. I did horribly on his tests, and biology is my best subject.

Comment:
He's an excellent teacher and his lectures are clear and helpful with the experiments he uses to explain the cellular process. However I thought his tests were hit or miss. The material covered in class was easy enough, but he also cherry picks very specific info from the texts, that you don't cover in class to put on tests.

Comment:
Read the book, random facts from it are 10% of his tests. Tests are all short answer 90% from lecture, so don't skip class! know anything he draws on the board. He loves experiments so know those and the scientists who did them. Ok class, just kinda boring. The reading is a lot but needed. About a chapter per lecture and the chapters are dense.

All questions on his test are free response and 10% is from the book. If you pay attention in class and take good notes and study the diagrams in the book, you should do well. He seems really into his subject and is a pretty funny sometimes. I would def recommend.

Comment:
He's very interested about what he teaches but his lectures are a bit dull and monotonous. For the tests you just have to memorize every detail from the textbook, since 10% of it will come from there. Lectures are good but he goes through it so quickly and kind of unorganized, so it's hard to follow along. Recitation is useless..

Dr. Goldstein is a very well-known scientist and he is definitely interested in the topics he teaches. I enjoyed his class and thought his tests were fair. Come to class, look over notes going back and forth with the textbook and you should be good!

The class covers a lot of material, and he breezes through it pretty quickly, but if you keep up with the reading, you should be okay. Do all the problem sets b/c he uses those q's on the exam and don't miss any lectures.

He is organized and clear. The first test is easier than the second and this is after you fill out evaluation forms, conveniently. He does move fast during the lecture.

His test are essentially the experiments he goes over in class with a few concise details from the book. The problem sets are helpful for the test, but he does cover material to fast during lecture and the recitation itself is pretty useless.

Very clear and organized with his notes. In lectures he talks too fast though. 90% of the info on tests comes directly from lectures. The other 10% comes from the book, but they are pretty specific questions.
