I've heard bad things about other linear algebra instructors, but Ralph is the man. Lectures are clear and he's great at explaining things. A rarity in the OSU Math department.

This guy makes math fun. I don't care what your background is. He makes the hard material seem very simple and straightforward. He even has a really great sense of humor. He speaks extremely clear with no accents . He pauses and leaves plenty of time for questions. I would highly recommend this guy to anyone.

Comment:

Absolutely fantastic professor. Class average is extremely high while course material is not. He tells you basically exactly what is on the test and explains every concept thoroughly and in a way easy to understand. Also, this man is hilarious. He has a very nerdy sense of humor and is a pleasure to listen to. I highly recommend him.

Comment:

Dr. deLaubenfels is the quintessential professor - other professors should strive to teach as well as he does. His lectures are immaculately structured, he speaks clearly and with gusto, and his ability to explain complex subjects in a simple manner is much appreciated. I appreciate his jokes, too. I actually *enjoy* math class with him.

Professor deLaubenfels is a master at teaching, setting the standards to which all teachers should aspire. He talks clearly, slowly, and loudly, frequently stopping for questions. He always illustrates abstract concepts with outstanding examples. His explanations are always crystal clear. He is also always available to help.

One of the best profs I've had at OSU. This man made a run of the mill stats class one of the better parts of my semester. He makes the material as easy as possible, his tests are extremely easy, and he's extremely helpful in office hours.

Amazing professor! I hear about other people getting this hard hw and impossible exams and I am so thankful for this guy! I hope he keeps teaching Math 2568 because I learned the material and it wasn't difficult. He gives non-mandatory hw and he even says the tests are hw problems with changed numbers. Very straightforward. Learn the proofs though.

The best math professor I've had here. The textbook and content is confusing, but he rehashes everything in simpler terms and makes it easy to understand. His exams and quizzes are based on his sample tests and homework assignments so studying is not difficult. Homework isn't mandatory, but you should do it. Take this class with him!

If you aren't a math person and want to knock out a GEC, take it with him! Wonderful at explaining things, very clear, and the three exams are very easy! There is even a study guide that is exactly like the exams!

This guy was my first math professor at OSU. He was incredible. A master of pedagogy. He made things interesting and didn't bore you with stuff you didn't care about. Also a really likable guy who spoke incredibly eloquently, one of those guys you could see smoking a pipe at an outdoor cafe in France, stroking his beard and writing profound things.

Comment:

One of the best math teachers you could ever encounter. If you dont have a valentines day gift, take his class and will tell you the correct equation to do so. Funny in an odd way that when you tell the jokes outside the class room that you can not make them as funny as he does. Oh And a genius professor who doesnt use calculator.
