I am glad this class is over because you had a lot of homework (easy) and you had to go to class because participation matters over the homework. It was easy, but his tests were sometimes challenging. I am not amazing at music, but his study guides did not really help on the tests. FINAL was SOO hard! Thankfully I had an A from other grades to help

3 of your 7 tests are online and can be done in groups! The other 4 are in class, but he gives you a study guide to fill out that is basically the test. Clicker questions throughout each lecture. Everything is 10% of you final grade including the final exam. Very easy to make an A. He gives you a lot of opportunity for bonus as well.

If you want to take Music Appreciation to get an easy fine arts credit, I cannot recommend Mr. King. Get ready for 3 listening tests, three 60-question online tests, online quizzes for nearly every class, in-class clicker quizzes on the textbook, 2 concert reviews, and a final exam. For most, that's too much to worry about for a class like this.

Nice guy, just kind of boring. You'll feel like you're back to high school. If you actually try you'll make a good grade, if you fail its because you didn't study at all or skipped assignments. 2 Concert reviews are required by the department (not the teacher). Lots of bonus points and most quizzes/tests are online, open-book. Good basic class.

He takes an elective way too seriously. Listening tests are much harder than they need to be along with the clicker questions. Sent out an email at the end of the semester saying he knew the class cheated and how we have no character but also said he had no way to prove it. Half of the class is about religion too. Take any other elective instead

He's so nice but save yourself the time and energy (and probably tears). I studied harder for this class than bio or spanish and STILL ended up struggling to bring my grade up from a C at the end of the semester. He does give a pretty good bonus point opportunity at the end of the semester though which is my only hope of getting a B.

I took music appreciation as an easy fine arts credit. However, under Bryan King's instruction it is the exact opposite. He treats his class like a sixth grade teacher would and freaks out about any technology in class, even though most of the class is based online. Also, the clicker questions and online tests are impossible. He should be fired.

King is such a down to earth, sweet man. The class has a lot of work inside and out, but super easy. Every night you have homework quizzes, but you can keep taking it until you get a 100. Go to class!! It is kind of boring, but you have clicker questions that can help you grade even more. Offers a ton of extra credit on concert reports.

Super sweet, Christian guy. Cares deeply about music and understands that Music Appreciation is boring to most people, so he tries to make it easy and fun. He is easy except a very tough grader on the concert reviews. Easy A.

Music appreciation should be an easy A. If you have this mentality do not take Professor King. He's a nice man but had no business in making a class like this this hard. The listening tests are impossible and even the take home exams take forever and are hard. He grades your concert reviews really hard too. Pick a different professor.

This professor is quiet but such a great guy. DONT buy the textbook because they give you and online version. The class is pretty basic overall. Memorize each study guide and you'll be fine. He gives lots of extra credit with the participation grade and clicker grades so show up to class! You will also have to attend two music concerts for a grade.

Best professor! As long as you show up for class, skim the textbook, and memorize the study guides, you will make a good grade. He offers tons of extra credit and gives you study guides that are practically the test. No excuse to not get an A in this class.

Great teacher. He takes the class a little too seriously, in that you really have to work for an A in the class. He's the most caring teacher I've had thus far at Auburn though.

Show up to the class, read BEFORE each lecture so you can make good clicker quiz grades, go to the concerts and actually listen to the music that will on the listening tests and you should do fine. I did not even try and never ever had to worry about my grade in the class.

Passionate about music and cares about his students. Clicker quizzes every day mean you have to show up pretty regularly. Don't wait until the last minute for concert reviews; they're 10% of your grade each and take longer than expected. I put in minimal effort and attended about 2/3 of the classes and scraped by with a low A.

Dr. King is one of the sweetest professors I've ever had. He obviously has a huge passion for music. However, I found that the class was a lot harder than it should've been. The listening tests are often really challenging and you have clicker quizzes every class. Don't take it as an 8 am, the music will lull you to sleep!

Overall he is a wonderful teacher who cares about his students. However, he doesn't round up your final grade. You have to earn your grade. I would recommend him, you just need to put the time in to do well. An A is doable, however don't slouch on early tests because that will come back to haunt you (final is only worth 10% of final grade).

Online textbook is nice, but he makes this class WAY harder than it needs to be. Would recommend taking someone else honestly. Nice guy, but extremely annoying class.
