Assigned homework was online and did not match the tests. Lectures did not go over entire course material. The only graded work was tests. This simple subject was made difficult by poor class structure. I had to use what I learned from taking this class at a different institution to pass.

Honestly the guy is probably the best math teacher i have had at explaining concepts in lecture. He can be picky on tests but he is very fair. Doesnt grade homework. Overall a great professor

I think Dr. Wickham is a good professor. Though I have taken Calc 1 in high school which obviously helpful. His grading at first was a little different than I was used to because he wants you to explain your answer, but I do like that he cares about your work instead of just the answer. He answers all questions you have and his lectures are helpful

Comment:

Makes class interesting with practical applications of calc. If you have taken calculus in high school, he is a great prof. to take because he shows you where certain principles come from, not just why they are. Very helpful and quirky. Tough class but good prof.

Dr Wickham can be a very tough teacher if you do not go over the material before class. In the lectures he goes over the section and tends to go in depth on the theorys and problems. This is bad if you didnt prepare but great if you did. I would take this professor again for numerical type though may avoid for theory type classes.

Enjoys teaching math but doesn't know how to teach it to someone who has a hard time grasping math. If you go in for extra help he will just say the same thing he said in class. I would NOT take another class from him.

This teacher was awesome! He was so helpful in class and if you still needed more help it was easy to go to his office and ask questions. You can tell he really likes mathematics. He didn't collect homework. Quizzes were a breeze and he gave study guides for tests so just do the homework and study guides and the test were easy too.

Wickham is an excellent Calc teacher that I highly recommend. Although the class is challenging, keeping up with homework, studying, and taking good notes in class will pay off. Wickham is very knowledgeable on all subject matters and is by far the best math instructor I have ever had.

This class started out really hard until I got used to it. There were only 5 tests, an exam, and some quizzes. You must do well on the tests to do well in this class!!! I wouldn't recommend this 5-day class unless you are majoring in Math. If you want a challenge, go ahead and challenge yourself, just take the 3-hour Calc!

Wickham was a very good teacher. He knew what he was talking about and presented it in an understandable manner. Make sure you go to class because he points out what resources in the book will help you. The class started out extremely hard, then got easier as the semester went on.
