Most useless professor I've ever had. He really has no room for a students self interest in understanding. its either you do or you dont. He shoots down students so much so that the students in the class were REALLY afraid to ask him questions. This whole class became a drain. If your concerned about a good grade for career don't take this class.

He is probably the most lethargic and vague professor ever. Dont listen to his lectures just ignore him and find a way to teach yourself everything each chapter. He really patronizes students for not knowing things even if its there first year. Again dont listen to his lectures. Do the homework and practice problems online. Only way to survive.

Very easy prof, just study old exams! He is also a very kind person, very knowledgable. You can take it and you will earn a good grade.

Avoid taking the class with him! He is terrible, went to office hours to get help, and was kicked out! What the hell?! The class is easy if you have helpful TAs.

Math 109 Summer Session I. Fitzgerald is an old senile Professor, but all in all does a decent job. Lectures are more traditional proof type. The level of rigor was pretty intense. he expects participation, he tends to be vauge when discussing one on one. To do well on test just do practice exams which are given and look at old exams if possible.

This class took some effort. His lecture notes were not very good. If you read the book before class and listen to his lecture then you should be fine. The homework was easy- a lot of 9th grade geometry stuff. One research paper and one (optional) in class presentation. Go through old class websites to get an idea of what will be on midterms

Wow...just, wow. His lectures are so unclear. He doesn't do examples, he only does proofs. Although, watching how annoyed he gets when no one in class knows the answers to the questions he asks, is kind of entertaining.

about the most unclear class i have ever taken. don't go to lectures, it's pointless. he makes you more confused and you just waste your time. pretty easy quizzes and midterms, taken from the homework. you need to teach yourself and then you'll be okay.

Prepare to teach yourself. His lectures are pointless. He tries to make you understand, but he is not clear in his work and then he insults students in class for giving the wrong answer. SO read the book, do the hw even though its not necessary to turn in, and hope that you know the stuff very well. His exams are very difficult, his quizzes are ok

He can't teach at all, so if you get this guy you won't need to go to any of the lectures. However, youll have to study everything from the book, so be ready to do a lot of self-studying. the tests are crazy easy tho, he picks the easiest problems off the homeworks, nothing hard, and the t.a.s are really good.

I didn't really learn much from him. I learned a lot more from my TA and the textbook. If you're a math person, you'll probably get an A in the class because his tests/quizzes are easy. But if you really want to learn, don't get him.

You will end up learning everything from the book, the professor stands at the board just does homework problems or proofs, but doesnt answer questions. Homework is never due, but every two weeks there is a quiz on the homework. Mid terms are easy compared to other 20C classes.

I read all the reviews about this guy after I was already stuck with him and I was kinda scared, but he's not that bad. The lectures are pretty boring, but he actually writes everything clearly, and it seems like he sincerely tries to teach, he just isn't very interesting.

There is the worst high school teacher you had, and then theres Fitzgerald... Expect to learn out of the book. Lecture hall is half empty until there is a quiz. Lectures are boring, hard to understand, and more is accomplished by not going. Tests are fairly easy if you are able to understand and learn out of the book on your own. Not recommended

he kind of reminds of of milton from office space, in that he doesn't really look at the class much and mumbles during lecture. he obviously knows his stuff though, and is willing to help you out. tests are easy, just do the homework and you'll be more than fine.

The materials were very difficult anyway (especially on the variations of Calculus). He would spend time to explain until the students understand. Overall, he is a model teacher.
