No textbook, but you will need a small flashdrive he gives you all the information you need. Most of your grade is labs, so do them. Before tests, go to his office and ask him questions on the review. He is willing to help you if you're willing to ask. He is super easy going and very interesting. I loved his class soooo much!

Comment:

I had Dr. McWilliams for Biology during J-Term. It was mainly discussion-based. Our main grades were lab reports and tests only. His lectures were far from monotone and he kept the class interesting. On our final day, he showed up playing "Taps" on the bag pipe. He is a lot of fun and I would definitely recommend him.

Great all around guy! Sometimes he is hard to follow in class but he is very willing to help you outside of class. This guy loves his job and his students. One of the coolest things about his class is how often and how well he ties God to science. Definitely take Dr. McWilliams!

I loved him as a prof. I am horrible at science and he really helped me understand the material. He was fun and made learning fun as well. He even came in one day playing bagpipes. Take him, seriously.

I had Professor McWilliams for earth science and loved it! He was funny and always put a smile on my face. The class was a little hard for me to understand at points, but he always offered help during his office hours and told me where tutoring was available. His attendance policy was fair and he was understanding. Overall great professor!

I had Dr. M for Earth and Envir Sci. He is awesome. His tests are lectures are tough/off base but they don't really hurt your grade. No textbook. If you will just follow his instructions and do all labs (just try your best), you will make an A. But some effort is required. Simply do the work. He is VERY helpful. Always ask questions. GREAT PROF.

He's a really cool, funny guy, but his lectures are a little confusing and the tests are way off base--he doesn't test on anything that he's actually covered in class. The tests frustrated me!

Fantastic science professor! Applied everything to your life really well which helped a lot in understanding things. Great experiments during labs and class was overall very easy if you just pay attention. Very helpful and always willing to meet outside of class to explain things.

Labs were fun in his class. Ponds to the back 40 were the best. Even when we broke stuff he was still nice about it. He was even in a rock band but can not talk about it due to legal limitations. :( ONE OF MY FAV. PROFS.
