She was my favourite teacher this year, made hard concepts easy to understand and when you asked a question she never got frustrated. Bought a textbook but didn't end up using it. She tells you exactly what is on the test so it is easy to get a good mark as long as you take the time to really understand.

Looking back i could have done way better in this class. Honestly just go to class and stay on top of the material - you can easily get a solid mark. no midterms, papers or finals just 5 tests and the best 10 of 15 quizes. Class itself wasn't dry either. Dr. Klatt is interesting and really nice, good class to take if you need to fill out a schedule

The content of this class is difficult, but I liked the format and she is an amazing teacher. She really knows her stuff and can explain things in a very clear way. If you miss too many classes it will be very difficult to catch up, as she doesn't post the full lecture notes online. No midterm/final but there are online quizzes 2x a week so keep up

If you go to class you'll do fine. If you miss a class be sure to go to office hours because it is very easy to get behind. She posts slides, but they are not beneficial to study from because she adds important context during lectures.

You need to go to every single lecture or else you will fall behind. She really cares for her students and would explain concepts if you put in the effort to go ask her during her office hours. Her lectures were really well structured and she is a really good speaker. The 5 midterms were pretty annoying as it was almost every two weeks.

On the format of the course: although Phil201 is very test heavy and can be fast-paced, it is definitely doable if you put work into actually studying & familiarizing yourself with the material. The course content isn't something you can learn overnight. See Dr. Klatt for help if you don't understand a concept! She is accessible outside of class!

tough course but Dr. Klatt is always willing to go over confusing concepts and re-explain them in a way that makes sense. Her drop-in/office hours are also extremely helpful. Expect to put a lot of effort into keeping on top of the workload as there are assignments nearly every week (marks for best 10/15) + 5 tests spaced roughly 2 weeks apart

She is definatly knowledgeable and can teach the only issue is the format of the course gives you very little time to get to know the material before you are tested. It is a full test every other week and every lecture has a quiz to go with it. She is abysmal at responding to emails which is my biggest dissapointment.

Unreasonably hard MC questions on tests. Gives a lot of useless information. Engineering GPAs should not be lowered based on a failure to memorize what Francis Bacon thought about Mumford's opinions.

Great Lecturer, makes concepts understandable, and teaches in a variety of ways to help you understand. Has a natural humour, keep a positive energy in the room. Is happy to help outside of office hours, and would reply to emails I would send asking questions. Hard concepts and assignments due almost every class, but you get all the help you want.

Klatt Is one of my favorite Lecturers. Once you get the material its easy to get a good grade. But you have to put time and energy into it. Class is heavy on assignments but they all help solidify your learning and prepare you for the tests. NO PAPERS :) Klatt is accessible with frequent office hours and is happy to arrange times outside of those

Carrie is amazing. She is caring, detailed in her explanations and very accomodating. Her resources are so well-done you don't even need the textbook. She takes a lot of tough material and explains it so well. Wish I had more profs like her.

Critical thinking is a difficult course. She moves quickly through the content so it can be really overwhelming. Unless you are a natural at translating nonsense english sentences into cryptic code, I would HIGHLY recommend coming to class. I took it accelerated over the summer and found the deep dive into the content beneficial. Good Luck.

My best advice: go to office hours if you get a poor mark on a test! I did that for almost every test handed back, and each time my mark was boosted by 5% or more. While this wasn't a super easy A, using office hours is really helpful and Klatt is so kind and understanding. She made lectures super interesting and hard content a little easier!

Carrie is a really organized, polite, professional and respectable prof! She's very fair and considerate of her students and going to class is worth while because she is good at explaining concepts. She's also great at public speaking and she's actually kind of funny too. Great quality professor and would highly recommend taking any of her courses!

Dr. Klatt really understands the material and how best to explain it to students. However, it is by no means an easy course and do not think that this is an easy GPA booster. Take the course only if you have a serous interest in the material. All in all it was a really good but challenging course.
