I got my brains beat out in Spanish 201 because I had Harges for 102. Yeah I knew she was an easy prof but I got killed. Now I have to re take 201. Gee thanks Harges.

Definitely go to class and pay attention. And of course you do actually have to study for all of the tests. But she is one of the nicest and funniest ladies ever! Absolutely love her!

Prof Harges is beyond nice. The other reviews are correct in that there was NO busy work. She explains the concepts, is very approachable if you have questions and lets you own your experience in class. There are 6 tests, no homework that you have to turn in (but you'd be smart to do it). LOVED this class!!!

Comment:

She is the nicest instructor I've ever had. That said, she doesn't give enough homework. Students need to more opportunities for practice than she is inclined to provide. Unprepared students don't realize that they don't understand the material until they take the test, which is a lousy time to find out. Especially as tests scores are the grade.

Dr. Harges is a very sincere, kind-hearted woman. That being said, she did not do a very good job of teaching the material. Most of the class was spent going over answers to bookwork that was assigned last class period. Grade is made up of 6 tests, and the material you have to learn on your own. If you want to learn Spanish, take another professor.

If you're looking to understand the material, do not take her. She is a great and funny lady, but I feel like I have not learned anything. Tests are every 2 weeks, but they are short (more like quizzes). Class is mostly consisted of talking about the homework that was assigned, but she does not go into detail at all. I do not feel prepared for 202

One of my favorite teachers so far. She isn't strict about attendance, really helpful on email, and super nice! All the tests have pictures and no writing portions. Her classes are a breeze!

I really like Dr. Harges alot. She is a nice lady who really likes her students. Her office hours are early in the morning. But I didn;t learn much more than I already knew from my two years in high school, I think maybe she could have challeged us more.

Very nice, wierd, funny, left handed..idk if that's useful or not...uses the book everyday..had to teach myself though. tells you wats going to b on the test. Never does the listening portion on tests. Not very helpful. knows everyone's name though.

HILARIOUS. Very easy. If you need to bring your GPA up, take her, but make sure you're doing your own studying b/c you won't learn too much. I really like her though. She's very helpful, but speaks in English most of the time.

Harges was so nice, just like the ratings say... but she's too lenient. If you're taking Spanish for fun, take her. If you're going to go on to 201, take someone else. I was thoroughly unprepared for 201 after taking her 102 class. :(

Would not recommend her. You won't learn how to do anything in Spanish and you'll pay for it later. She speaks 80% English...in a 400-level Spanish literature course. I had another literature class where I actually learned because expectations were set. Rather than analysis, you did summary. It was like 4th grade. As everyone says, she's nice.

Dr. Harges is the easiest teacher I have ever had. She grades easy and tells you exactly what is on the tests which are super easy. She makes class interesting and has a fun personality. Only bad thing is that you dont really learn much. If you are looking for an easy and fun class, take one of hers.
