She's nice but a terrible prof. I ended up ditching her class to attend another prof's lecture bc she barely gave any examples & it wasn't till I began reviewing for exams that I realized how much she didn't teach us that we were expected to know. I gave this course a four for difficulty but I don't even know if it was that hard or she just sucked

Comment:

Professor Florence is very caring about her students and will go out of her way to help you succeed. Her instruction is clear and easy to understand, she writes everything on a chalkboard so it is very easy to take good notes & she outlines exactly what questions are going to be on quizzes (basically a free 10% toward your overall grade).

Professor Florence is a really sweet person. She really wants to see you succeed and will give you extra help if you need it. She is fairly monotone but her 45 minute lectures make it doable. She gives you 5 quizzes worth 10% of your final throughout the year and takes your best two marks (definitely an easy 100% on the quizzes)

Under no circumstances would I advice anyone to take her courses. You can take the same course at kings or mail campus. I previously had accommodation for an exam and she went out of her way to refute it with my faculty's counsellors so it was revoked after the exam. She in no means has her students best interest at heart. Do not take!!!

Very monotone and repeats herself often. She is a really nice woman though. There is a lot of self learning in this class though, especially if you cant come in for extra help that often.

Best proff ever for math. As a student who often struggled with math courses, I found this course easy thanks to proff florence. She teaches at a good pace, good for those that want to really think about what is being taught. Extremely clear and always willing to help you outside of class. If you struggle with math, take it with her if you can.

She tries really hard, but cannot make coherent examples or statements without contradicting herself. She made time for extra help often, but expected that all students had oodles of time early in the morning... Overall, I felt like I was in a primary class, talked down to in such a way that seemed she thought the class was unintelligent.

The BEST prof I everrr had at western for math. I loved the way she taught. Other foolish (dhillon) math profs at western should follow her example. She is very sweet and veryy helpful. God bless you prof Florence. :)

Hands down one of the best profs. Though, she's an elderly lady and talks really slow at times - one hour classes can feel like torture sometimes (especially "homework classes". Extremely helpful - makes classes to answer your questions. Though, if she knows you don't attend class, she won't help you. She makes everything very simple to understand.

A wonderful professor! She explains everything so clearly and goes over it so that everyone understands. She is so willing to help you outside of class too and she makes days for "extra help" on her own time. She is such a sweetheart and generally wants to see you do well. I was terrified to take math but I actually find I can understand it. She explains it to us like we're in second grade but without being condescending. She goes over and over the important things to remember so they really stick.

Very helpful and most willing to help if you attend class--even the homework day classes! She takes her time, and prepares you well for the tests and exams. She gives lots of time to take up homework questions. She teaches all the math at Brescia so you can't really go wrong with her for your math requirements. Very willing to help you succeed!
