I loved having Prof. Kitchin for Cultural Anthropology. Her class isn't a easy A, she gives out several essays and projects. But there are no surprises in her class; there are only three tests and she takes the questions from lecture notes and from projects and in-class videos.

don't take this class. Really did not enjoy it. Her tests were hard, notes arent online so taking notes are essential. Very boring class, look over power points all class. Hates cell phones. Bought expensive text book and used it once. Disliked the class so much that I'm writing this review during her class as we speak.

Comment:

Professor Kitchin is very passionate & knowledgeable of anthropology and expresses her love for it throughout class. I took her Native American Anthropology class and loved everything about it. Her lectures were a little long, and could get boring at times since it was strictly off of a power point, but nonetheless interesting at the end of the day

Professor is very knowledgeable about anthropology and is very passionate. She only gives 3 exams which are fairly easy if you read the text and showed up for lectures. She uses powerpoints, video clips, articles, and DVDs to spice up the lecture so it's not boring. Cell phones are a big no-no in this class so don't think you can text all class.

Professor Kitchen really loves everything about Anthropology. Makes the class interesting by relating to her own experiences. 3 tests, and a couple assignments basically make up your grade. No need for textbook. All test material comes from the powerpoint given.

Wonderful woman, very interested in Anthropology. Learned all from powerpoints and she gives you all the notes. Used the text book once, watched movies, and texts were basically all from the notes she gives you. Never scored lower than a B on anything in her class. My opinion its an easy A. Definitely take her!

I think Professor Kitchin is a very friendly woman and she has really cool experience with some stuff she teaches us. Her tests are based of the powerpoints and you have 2 essays, then a poster project. She has a strict no cell phone policy, so don't use it. I didn't think I'd like this class, but I really do!

Really dont even need the book. Her tests are based off her powerpoints. Its really boring but just takes notes and thats it. She grades her essays hard and the tests are pretty difficult but overall its passable, just not the most interesting thing in the world thats for sure

Honestly one of the best professors i have taken in two years at occ. She is an inspiring teacher who has so much life experience. I really enjoyed both cultural anthropology and North American Indians class with her.

She is easy and her class is easy. The material is interesting and you watch videos 50% of the time. If you can't pass, or you don't like her - you have issues. All she asks is that you don't text during her class, but if you do she will most def call you out on it. I would recommend her, easy A.

I've taken almost all of her classes, and if you can't pass her class you have a serious problem! She hands EVERYTHING to you and just gives a few essays that take about an hour each. No text needed. Meticulous with essays, make sure you cite everything and always read her handouts for the occasional pop quiz. YOU WILL LOVE HER CLASS!! TAKE HER!!

Easy class. Lectures can get boring at times but as long as you take the notes tests are extremely easy. Despite assigning readings, they aren't necessary for the tests. Nice teacher, always willing to help, definitely going to take her again before graduating

Easy class if yo take notes, i took her two times and got a's both times. she like to take questions off of the dittos she passes out, no need to by the book, just take her notes and you will get an A!!!!

Excellent class/teacher. Great lectures, intersting material, real life experience, video clips. Never a dull moment. She used to teach writing classes so watch your assignments, she grades tough on the gramatics. She stresses College Level writing...Overall medium work level, great classes, would take her again!

She's a nice lady who tells a lot of interesting stories but she is a tough grader when it comes to the essays. You can get a good grade in her class if you give it your best shot and if you fully focus on her lectures. Do all of the work (yes, even the readings - she likes pop quizzes), show up to class, and definitely participate.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER! you will love her class. make sure you take good notes and study well, all of her tests are on the notes. She gives a few essays, try to answer them as open-mindedly as possible. and read the handouts, because every once in a while she throws in a pop quiz on the handout. highly recommended!! easy A!
