Comment:

Professor Blek is a true gem with a sensible fashion style conveyed for someone his age. By far the best professor I've taken at IVC, highyl recommended even if you're looking for a humanities course unrelated to a business major.

Blek always made my mornings! I always looked forward to attending his class. He is great at explaining and is very caring. He is a very unbiased man, which makes him a great econ professor! His lectures are enough to pass the class. Dont buy the book! I was sad when I completed both Econ 101 & 102! His fashion sense was killer by the way!

good professor, always available if you need help. Lectures arent hard nor boring. Online hw every week due Sunday , hw really helps your grade! He also drops your lowest grade! Great caring professor! You can tell he loves teaching/his job

Best teacher I've ever had, I've never missed a class because they are so funny and interesting, he doesn't post powerpoints online so you have to go to class to learn everything, the book can help to solidify concepts in your brain but tests are essentially only on things in his lectures.

If you're taking Econ, do not take with anyone else, but Mr. Blek! He is super organized that makes the class so much easier. I didn't have the book so I went off his notes and I passed with a B. I'm sure if you put time out of class to go over notes and read, you could easily get an A.

Professor Blek is the BEST professor I have taken so far. Half way through the semester I found I did not needed to take this class however I am grateful I did His lectures are really interesting he is a really caring teacher extremely flexible for office hours and a great instructor. Had a B through out the semester got an A in final A in final G

Comment:

Mr. Blek is one of the most amazing teachers you will ever have. It may be difficult for most, but he is willing to work with you during office hours to clear anything you might have a problem with. Weekly work on MyEconLab is a must, and a total of three tests, plus a very thorough final. If you want to learn, he's your guy.

Professor Blek has been one of my favorite professors at IVC. You can tell that he enjoys teaching econ. His class isn't super easy, but you can easily do well if you put in time. There is online homework every week, but it's not much. He tests on his notes along with material from the book. If you ever have questions, he is always happy to help.

Great teacher, savvy, take if you want to learn. He is not an easy A.. but you can get a B easy if you pay attention in class and read a bit. Not too much hw. Test are sometimes a bit hard but if you study you will pass. He likes to talk about current events in the beginning of class which was always interesting hearing his perspective on any topic

I really liked Mr. Blek! He has a cool style, he's funny, he stays relevant, encourages students to speak, etc. I wouldn't say his Econ classes are easy A's at all, make sure you put in the work! I felt sorta special because he said out of all his years teaching that class, ours (Spring 2015 semester) was probably his favorite. :)

Professor Blek is really great and explains everything very well. He includes his own past experiences into lectures and makes them as entertaining as possible (I found myself suppressing laughter often). He also does a great job of interacting with students and takes the time to commit every single one of his student's names to memory. Great man!

I don't understand how people say that he is a good instructor, he talks and talks and teach you easy stuff that he repeats over and over but when the time comes to learn something really hard he gives you a useless example then he assigns something really hard for the next class and test you on it the same day. Useless teacher avoid his class.

His final is brutal, his online quizzes are hard, his short in class quizzes are hard and he gives you like 10 minutes to answer stuff that will take you over 15 minutes to answer, his test are moderately hard, he assigns a lot of homework, his paper analysis are hard and somewhat long he is a tough grader, like if you were in english class.

Mr. Blek never use the book we spend too much money and never used it. He likes to talk about politics but the class is boring .. He also is nice person and always have time for his students not all is bad about him. I not recommend him 100% may be 75%.

Comment:

His notes are very helpful and gives good examples. Econ book can be used for his Macro class as well. online hmk and quizzes are pretty straight forward. In class quizzes and tests are not too bad. If you put alot of effort you'll pass. final was more essay & reason based then just graphing.
