I was afraid of this class when I found out that I had Mrs. Shipley. However, she was great. It is a difficult class but she helped me succeed. She doesnt' want people to fail and will help if you ask. Clinical site was horrible though!

Comment:

Overall my class thought she was a good teacher.So I'm not really sure why everyone was so negative about her. The course content is hard and goes by very fast, so you have to put a lot of time in studying.But she was very willing to stay after class and clinicals to answer questions. So I'm glad I had her for a teacher.

You will NEVER get out on time. The class was always kept AT LEAST AN HOUR past clinical time and never ended lecture on time. We spent way too much time staying over for clinicals that we could have spent studying. This class was a joke with this teacher and i cant find any reason why this was allowed to go on

If you can transfer or get another instructor do it. Reads ppts to you, gives you enomous amts of ppwk that don't relate to testing. Always late and expects you to stay - get someone elses notes if you want to pass.

Mrs. Shipley is a very nice person. The content is a little difficult, but she absolutely relates clinical experience to class material which makes everything make more sense. I would recommend her!

This teacher doesn't care if you learn or not. If you tell her you need help with something she will tell you there is a book in the library on it. Don't take her class if you aren't an excellent self-learner!

Prior to enrolling in her class I had heard nothing but negative comments. To my suprise she was a wonderful teacher with a cute sense of humor hidden among her lecture. My advice to you is don't judge her before entering her class. She also expects great care plans so don't dissapoint!

Mrs. Shipley is a great instructor. I have learned a lot from her. She does expect you to do your best but isn't that why we entered the field of nursing? Also make sure you come prepared for clinical because it goes very fast at Kindred. Her lectures are good and so are her powerpoints. I would take again if I could.

I thought Mrs. Shipley was a very good instructor. It is a very difficult class and requires a lot of independent study to grasp the material. Like another poster said- has a dry sense of humor that just cracks me up.

Mrs Shipley is a very good clinical instructor. Her notes and lectures are exactly in line with the exams and the study guides. i have not studied nearly as much as i should be, but i am pulling a B in the class. she's very logical, and helps with day to day application of nursing. she also has this dry, hilarious sense of humor!

Mrs Shipley is a very good instructor. She really knows her stuff and is extremely helpful at clinical. Her notes and lecture more than prepares you for the tests. She seems to really want you to succeed. I would definitely take her again if she taught different classes.

She is a good teacher. She does want students to succeed. All 10 students passed in my class. From what I hear, her PowerPoint’s/notes have improved. My friend just missed an A and she studied just Shipley's notes for the tests.

Mrs. Shipley was great with me. She was helpful and truly concerned with my success. If you are a hard working student and have the desire to learn you will have no problem with her. If you are just getting by and don't have the desire to be the best you can be, then don't take her.

This class is HARD, shipley really pushes her students to suceed, and while i hated it, at the end I looked back and thought WOW i truly learned a lot, I really learned what I was capable of, do get someone elses notes just to compare, and don't feel bad if she makes you feel bad at clinical....You're alright!!! You will learn a lot about yourself

She goes on and on in her monotone voice. She doesn't try to help until the end when everyone starts to complain. Her notes are 1/4 of what is on the test. Meds, different lingual and completely different notes are what you find as you take the test. Do not listen to her in class, what she says is not correct. She is a tricker.

Is not easily approachable. Comes at you like you don't even have a clue, and you do. Notes in her class are a little rough.
