Best professor I've had in college so far. He really knows his stuff when it comes to journalism, and is always accessible if you have any questions. He grades things very quickly, and he gives a lot of very constructive feedback. Discussions in this class were always interesting and the assignments were a lot of fun! big recommend

i took him for journalism. a great class to take if youre interested in journalism. i figures out its not for me, but i dont regret taking this class because hes a great teacher. really caring.

Gives great feedback on assignments. He cares about how your doing and always asks for feedback on how to improve the class for the next semester. Take the time suggested. Write early and let him know if your struggling with a concept. Grades fair.

Dave is a really good teacher, he's passionate about the subject that he teaches and it really shows. He has a good sense of humor and builds relationships with his students. The assignments are always practical, they teach you skills for the future if you are planning on being a serious writer.

This guy is really a knowlegeable teacher who defintely knows what hes doing when he talks about journelisim. He works well with thestudents and is very motevating. but sometiems hes corny and awekward but that was funny

Oh my goodness, if you are taking an English course you have to take it from him ( i recommend online because for the writing center assignments you dont have to actually go to the writing center)He is so helpful and so encouraging its like no other professor I've had before. I would take any class he offers.

One of the best teachers I have ever had the pleasure to know. He makes sure you understand the material, even if that means staying after class for half an hour or responding to a million different emails from you. If all teachers were like him college would actually be a pleasant experience.

He's tough, but if you're really trying then he'll be flexible with you. He often tries to make class fun and it's a good opportunity to learn new things about other fields too, since it's hands-on write-your-own-article type assignments. Very approachable and likeable to boot.

Really nice guy, but his class ends up being kind of boring. He doesn't really stand up to mouthy students(and we had a HORRID one in mine). If you want to be a journalist, you have to take his class. But, if you just take his class, you might have a good time.

I took Mr. Waskins class through blackboard. To be honest, English 111 was one of the classes I was dreading-not that I'm a bad writer-but because of the work involved. Mr. Waskins makes what's expected clear in the beginning, and I like no surprises. Although, there is a considerable amount of work involved, it was a great learning experience!

Fun, relatively easy professor. Gives great and timely feedback. Gives you freedom to pretty much write what you want. Classes are interesting, so being there wasn't a burden. Cares about students and will go out of the way to help them.

Dave is a nice guy and eager to help. He's a journalist, and this is the class he seems to be better in. He's very easy and tries to make class fun. He's a little socially awkward, but it's no big deal. Do the work and you'll definitely pass. I am no reporter, but this class was easy and relatively fun.

I love Dave to death! He was very helpful even if he did not know how to answer a question, he would go out of his way to find answers. He often gave a lot of praise to those who deserved it, so it was a pleasure to be in class and get acknowledged. His class is fairly easy, more so than it should be. He is very experienced in writing.

A wonderful instructor. At first I thought the class was too easy, but he keeps you busy & you get a lot of experience & excellent feedback. Very clear and helpfulâ€"class was enjoyable & he wants all of his students to have a good experience with writing-not grow to hate it. Very fair grading. Will help you get a paper published into a textbook!

Dave is a very thorogh instructor. He shows a deep passion for his job, which is writing/english. He also keeps his personal life away from the classroom which I respect more than anything. He is shy and very generous. The only complaints that I have is that our assignments for this class seemed a bit too easy. Perhaps I am too eager.

Totally, totally easy. A 5th grader would excel. Nice enough guy. Very straight-forward, but Mr. Waskin falls into the category of someone who believes he has an excellent sense of humor, and he does not. It can be annoying.
