Comment:

Dr. Briscoe was one of my first on campus college professors. The first test was very easy, however as the semester went on they got slightly harder. The test often has material that we did not go over in class. He is very caring and funny, but does waste a lot of class time getting off topic. He did offer bonus points!! Love Dr. Briscoe

Dr. Briscoe is caring and encouraging. Test are nothing like his lectures and half the questions not even in the book itself you will need it. Be careful on calling him out on it because he will take it out on you passively in class. I ended up with a B in class but I wont take him again. He doesnt pass back any tests (grades Only come from test)

Dr. Briscoe is highly respected and very kind. He does care about your future and offers professional and personal advice when needed. The things that throws me for a loop is the difference between his lectures and his tests, and how off topic he can get during lectures. You need a book and if you dont have one you will get a C at best.

Briscoe has interesting lectures. He doesn't require attendance. The reason for my rating is because he only had 4 test all semester. They are multiple choice but they are HARD. I'm an all A engineering student, I'm not dumb but never made an A on one test. His class has been my only B in college. I even recorded his lectures.

Dr. Briscoe is a phenomenal instructor who loves teaching and knows his stuff. Dr. Briscoe is a advocate for higher education. He encourages every student to be successful. He has definitely encouraged me to go to the top and not to stop until I get there. He encourages you not to settle with just a bachelors or a master degree. PHD it is!!!!

Dr. Briscoe was an amazing teacher, he is laid back and very understanding. Attendance is not madatory but he expects that since you are an adult you should show up for class. Starts class a little early, so you may miss the first part of the lecture, but he normally repeats stuff. Only gives tests no homework. Note taking is a MUST! Overall great

I took this class to get my first year experience out of the way and wow did this teacher have a great lasting presence on me. I would recommend anyone to take him.

He is a really nice person, his class is not hard at all but DO NOT take it too easily. He does read off of his test as his method of teaching. You do not need the book, but he does suggest that you buy it. I bought it and never opened it once, because I took notes since he read off of his test.

Took him for FamViol and SocioFAMily. Very caring, but talks too much about life and not what is going to be on the test. So READ the book bcus u have to! Tests are very specific questions over 4 chapters, so u don't know what will be on it . I heard he doesn't do open book anymore. But really cool Proffesor

Come to class and you're good, seriously. The tests are always based on lecture and he repeats the facts he wants you to know. Lecture is also hilarious, mainly because he's just a super goofy dude. One nit pick I have is that he puts more emphasis on having the book than I found necessary.

Dr. Briscoe is one of the most caring professors I've ever had. He really care about his students. For the most part if you want to pass the test you need to attend class because he goes over the test material then. He gives great examples if you don't understand. If there are raises available he needs it!

Dr. Briscoe is all about helping the student excel in the field. You can tell that he's been there. Out in the field working and changing peoples lives. You will understand and have a working knowledge of what family violence does to the abused and the abuser.

Extremely easy class, all his tests are open book and class is not mandatory. I never went to class and I made an A. The tests go in order of the book and they are extremely easy, take him if you want the EASIEST A youll make in college

Very interesting professor. Works well with students and understands that life happens. Often gets off topic. Often helps prepare for tests and papers well in advance and does not grade hard.
