Condescending teacher. I failed a test and went to his office to ask what I could do to raise my grade from a B to an A as I was a straight A student until this class. He just smirked @ me, told me to not waste his time and that I should 'join the rest of the mortals who can't walk on water and get all A's' I have never been so insulted in my life

Mr. Oliver I an amazing teacher. His passion is to help you learn, so he gives out lots of homework and extra credit. If you have a choice, take him, and you won't be sorry. He's not that easy, because he wants you to really learn what you need to, but he is SO willing to help. Ask him any question, and he'll answer it until you understand it.

My favorite teacher of all time! Took the final 2 days ago and I already miss him. He is brilliant, hard, and makes you learn. I took Wright for V01A and was disapointed with his professionalism and lack of debth in the subject. Wright makes it too easy so you don't learn the material well. Science majors must take Oliver! Wright is for IGETSE only

Awesome but hard. do the homework, extra credit, and practice tests to get a good grade. GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS, HE WILL TAKE PITTY ON YOU AND GIVE YOU AN A!! He lets you make up test points, but not easily.

His greatest quality is that he is very very helpful. He will always go out of his way to make you understand the material, even if he has to miss lunch. A great teacher overall, but just beware the class takes time and lots of work needs to be completed.

knows his stuff inside and out. the most helpful teacher i have ever met. the best advice i could give you: if you are confused, missed a quiz, want to go over homework, whatever, GO TO HIM AND HE WILL HELP! the class is extremely difficult, and there are weekly online quizzes plus tons of homework. great teacher, but thinks this is your only class

One of my favorite professors I ever had at VC. Makes everything very understandable and is totally available. If you do all your assignments and "extra credit" you should do fine. Tests are not that bad as long as you study the practice quizzes.

oliver is the coolest chemistry nerd in the world. he's very funny and very helpful. GO TO OFFICE HOURS! he definately favors people who go to office hours and to be honest, you won't pass o. chem if you don't. the tests are pretty hard, but study the text and pay attention in the lab, it actually helps....plus, he blows stuff up

I strongly recommend this class only if you're willing to eat, breathe, drink, and dream chemistry all day long. I fell behind early, but I really worked hard towards the end, and I got a B. If you're not willing to give your best effort, don't take the class.

Very difficult. If you want to learn a lot and work really hard he is the guy to take. If your not willing to spend every waking hour doing chem. then dont take him. All in all he is a really good teacher. After tests he lets you make up parts of it. He makes sure you learn it.
