Exams do not match reading and homework material. Also, exams count for most of your grade and they are extremely difficult. Prof offers no study guides. Homework problems are many parts and take a while to complete.

Professor McKinley is a tough teacher who doesn't seem to care much for her students. I have went to multiple tutors outside of harper as well as at harper and still struggled with the material and when I emailed her about it the best she could say was "work harder". Im only at harper for a summer class and she isn't very helpful

Professor McKinley is a wonderful professor and knows what she's talking about. Lectures are well structured, always on topic, and get you ready for the homework. Homework isn't always easy but neither is accounting. You really will learn a lot in this class but be prepared to work for it. Really enjoyed this class.

Excellent professor and willing to help the student via online chat, email or phone. She responds to email within 24 hours. Work hard and you will be rewarded. I highly recommend this professor. Professor Dawn McKinley is one of the best teachers at Harper College.

Professor was not easily accessible through email and took over 24 hours to respond in most cases to emails regarding questions about homework, etc. Feedback was not easily accessible and you have to pry her for more information at nauseam at times. Additionally, assignments had previous class information (wrong page numbers, dates, etc.).

Dawn is a good teacher. I was frustrated that she has us do small group work in class most days. I just don't like group work, especially in accounting. Besides that, she knows her stuff and is pretty fair and clear. Try to not miss class and do your homework and you'll be fine. Homework is very manageable, probably 20-60 min on average.

If your life depended on understanding managerial accounting and you took Dawn's class, you would die. The homework is annoying and doesn't help prepare you for the tests. The tests are unrelated to material covered in class and there are only 27 questions per test so if you miss three questions you're at a B. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, AVOID DAWN!!!!!

Acc 102 is overall a hard class with any professor, so if you have the choice PICK MCKINLEY! She is VERY clear and helpful and she knows her stuff. She prepares you well for the exams, even though they are tough. She is overall very sweet and I would highly recommend her!

Definitely take her if you are going into Accounting. She explains the material well and will answer any questions you have. Just make sure you study and go over the final review packets because the tests are the hardest part of the class.

This teacher was helpful in some areas for accounting and others she was all over the place. Her notes do not match up with the test at all and its very difficult to comprehend questions that are on the test that are really detailed. I know she has got a lot of good feedback on this site but I would NOT recommend her as a teacher.DO NOT BOOK!

I received an A on the first exam, but failed the second exam, and then dropped the class. There was incredibly little extra credit, and the projects were baffling. I switched my major as a result of this class. Two business students I know that decided to stay in this class; after they failed took different teachers, and both received A's.

Extremely friendly, approachable, helpful, clear. She's the best teacher I've ever had. The CLASS itself is very time consuming, difficult, and sure is easy to fall behind. Get ACC tutoring ASAP, and KEEP up with the class - you should do fine.

Tough class, but Dawn really helps the students through it. She lets the student know how they're doing throughout the class. Extremely approachable. Definitly recommended if you have to take Accounting. Ask a lot of questions, and don't hesitate to ask her for help.

This is definately a business drop out class. we went from 40-19 by the end of the semester. She is a good teacher. Very helpful! USE THE FREE TUTORING CENTER ALSO! This was the hardest class I have ever taken. Make sure not to take too many classes in addition to accounting. very expensive books also. Good teacher. uses powerpoint successfully
