Class was okay, if you're not interested in history good luck. He goes on and on, it can be quite boring at times. Few tests and even makes some of them open book. He seems like a nice guy, just hard for me to enjoy the class not being a history major.

Professor Macleod was one of my favorite professors. I took him for Hist 1050 and Hist 2050. Even though he requires a lot of papers that are three pages long it isn't to bad. His lectures are great, and he is not afraid to go off topic and relate it to the real world. I would not take the class if you are not a history major. Great teacher

This isn't a writing intensive course first off. This man decides it's a good idea to only have three papers which are worth 20, 20, and 30% of your final grade, and the other 30% comes from participation. Take your phone out even once, it's over for you. I emailed him asking for help on an assignment, he sends the syllabus to me in response. smh

Three exams that have to be 9 pages long each. Difficult, long exams! Discussion questions every week. Make sure you read the online primary sources.

He is extremely intelligent and passionate about history. His lectures can drag on and he gets off topic a lot, but we had some pretty great discussions. You need to read documents each week - all online and no textbook. 2 papers, midterm, final, and weekly readings. Participate! Honestly a great guy. I'd take him again if I were a history major!

He is a very nice and caring professor. There are no quizzes or tests in this class. There are 4 essays for the summer reading book and there are also events that you have to attend which are mandatory. I loved this professor. If I can I would take this professor again.

I took an online graduate class - he is useless. He gives work just to give it. I learned more teaching the Cold War myself, than I learned with him. It appears as if he has something to prove. Crazy part is, he gives a TON of work, but isn't a terrible grader. I BSd most of my work and got a B- - fine with me!!!

Dr. MacLeod is a great prof. I have had him for 2 grad classes, both were excellent. He gives a manageable amount of work which is interesting and encourages discussion. The papers were helpful in linking the discussions with the readings. I know far more about the Cold War as a result of taking his classes.

An intelegent and insightful Prof. Presents great resource documents. Class is interesting and compelling. However, the he tends to present a liberal agenda however he is open to discussion and does not penalize students for contradicitory views as long as the student is able to support their position.

He was pompous and went on and on about things that weren't on the syllabus. He seemed to think he knew everything but he didn't bother to explain it to anyone. He smelled bad and he insisted on getting right up into our faces.

Had him twice. Very intelligent, but not the best teacher. Your final grade is completely dependent upon the research paper. Rarely sticks to the topic and pushes his political views. You basically have to teach yourself. Plays favorites. If you show up and work hard on the paper you'll be fine. Not the best @ WPU, but not the worst.

Horrible professor. picks favorites and then passes them. the final paper make or breaks your grade! he says that after 5 absences you fail, but there was a girl in my class that missed half the classes and still passed...

he is a great professor, the articles he assigns are politically correct. they bring out the truth about history and our current governnment. If you are interested in knowledge and becoming wiser then he is great. If you like living in denial about the US, then you need to go bad to high school.

He is a true historian. If you are a history major and love history and hate George W def take him. He expects alot out of his students and is strict about being in class and on time. He is very personable and approachable. He went out of his way to help me.
