Prof. G is great- his lectures are very engaging and involve many examples. You will be challenged especially if you choose honors. Exams (3) are very difficult but can be prepared for using the practice tests on Dr G's website- his exams are much more difficult than the ACS, so you will pass with flying colors. Very accessible outside class.

Prior to taking his class, I had no chemistry background ... literally. Without doubt, Dr. Giarikos prepared me extremely well for future chemistry courses. Like anything, you have to work for your grade. However, if you put in the effort and not procrastinate for his tests, you will have no problem. I would definitely take him again in the future!

Probably one of the best professors that NSU has to offer. Please take his class seriously and do your work. You will be able to understand chemistry topics but the exams are difficult so cramming will not help. I recommend taking him to get a good understanding of chemistry which will be a good basis for the orgo 1 and 2 and biochem!!

For starters he's an excellent professor. You're going to have to work hard for a B in his class because he's a super tough grader. Tests are difficult, but are based on the practice tests on his website. Good luck keeping up with his notes. He truly cares about his students and wants to prepare them for the future/see them succeed.

This class provides an GREAT basis for Organic Chem and Biochem, all of which will help you in DAT, MCAT, etc. Don't take the easy way out you'll regret it! I got an A in chem 1 and 2 with him!!

Dr. G was the greatest Chem prof I've ever had. I struggled and hated chem before his class but with his help I was able to get my first A on a chem test and I learned how to write a kick butt lab report. He's SUPER helpful so don't be afraid to go to his office hours. If you put in the work you'll see results. His tests are hard but worth it!

He's an incredible professor. Exams are tough, but straight forward--nothing he hasn't taught you. Every exam is cumulative, which sounds ridiculous, but it helps. Read through each chapter, study your notes, take the practice tests/quizzes he provides, and don't slack off. STUDY, keep up, and you'll do well. Don't be afraid to ask questions!!

Had him for gen chem 1 honors, very helpful and very nice and down to earth. young guy and can joke around and have fun with the class. if you are not willing to work, he is not willing to fluff your grade. you will see 60's and 70's, but at the end i came out with an A-. he curves the lab reports and tests and group problems at the end.

I heard he was a good teacher, but I was not really impressed. He's very intimidating which made it hard for me to ask questions. There is too much emphasis on lab reports when lab is only worth 25% of the total grade. I got an A- but had to work extremely hard for it. Don't take this class in the summer if you don't have to
