Comment:

Nice guy but disorganized. Took online class had to drop because it was such a headache. I didnt have time to be constantly making sure hes doing things right. Failed to give EC points for EC assignments, give assignments in a timely manner, respond to emails, deliver accurate relevant info. Coaster. Taking vacations mid semester. Inconsiderate.

Don Gauthier is a very GOOD professor. One of LAVC's BEST professors!!! if you do your part as a student he will work with you. if you expect to get an A and not put any effort at all( miss days) please do not go to school until you are ready.

Professor Gauthier is a really good Professor. He is clear on what he wants. He gives you the chance to get an A with lots of extra credit. You just have to put the time in to do it. Class trips are awesome. He is a funny guy and is very smart when it comes to geography. One of the best professors at valley. If you want to learn, take him.

He is one of the most genuine professors I've ever met. He truly cares about environment and his students. The work required is very easy. Get in touch w/ your classmates and do the quizzes together. Take notes, go to class, plenty of EC, lots of lecturing but its always interesting. If you get to know him he's wonderful.

hes absolutelyunfair!iasked him several times 4 e credit but never gave me opportunity to makeup my midterm yet I found out other students took it next door alone with their phones to cheat offHe gave e credit work to other students but always rejected my requests I was so close to an A but he just never cared Only ppl who cheat recieve A's .

This professor is awesome. Goes over the study guide, just ask questions. You will be tempted to ditch class because its boring. I only used the book to study for midterms and finals. I got a B in the class. His failed jokes are adorable. Passionate about geography and how it effects us today. Have a great life professor!

He's a good teacher, and a genuinely nice man. Difficulty wise about on par with any introductory science course you take. My only complaint is that he'll go on political asides here and there.

This professor is the one to take at Valley. His class is very organized and to the point... you have a couple of take home quizzes one midterm and a final which he gives study guides for. He offers a lot of extra credit which i recommend everyone to do. I have even opened my textbook so don't even buy it. You don't have to go to class every time.

Prof. Gauthier is a nice man who genuinely cares about his students but this class was not an easy A, he has a VERY soft voice & it's difficult to understand his lectures if you haven't already read the chapter. He also doesn't use power points so make sure you can write/type your notes quickly to keep up. Be sure to sit up front and buy the book!

Professor Gauthier is a very funny, cool person to be taught by and to be around. he loves geography and also loves to teach. you have to keep up with him because once he talks get ready for notes. you must read the chapters in the book to keep up with the class.

Prof Gauthier was very nice and very interested in many relevant. issues and political things. You need to read the textbook on your own (where most quiz questions come from) b/c he doesn't cover everything in the book in his lectures. Quizzes are usually take home tho. and the exams come from the quizzes.

I took him for a winter class so all tests were take home and most material was covered in class. He didn't expect us to really read each chapter we covered so went over everything that was important. Super caring and really wants students to pass.

Comment:

Here's what you need to know: extremely funny, kind of interesting, super monotone, you have to read, and you have to show up. Some of the test questions are random facts he puts on the board. It's an interesting class, I just wish he wasn't so bleak. There is also a mandatory field trip. A few quizzes, one midterm, one final. Kinda easy overall.
