An amazing lecturer, a great teacher and extremely knowledgeable about chemistry. Taking this class not only taught me a lot about chemistry and a bit about its history, but it also developed my logic skills. I really enjoyed listening to his lecture.

Not as bad as most ppl have rated him. He definitely knows his stuff, but is fairly disorganized. He just explains on and on without really stopping. No need to really attend the lectures, study off txtbook, courseware and its good enough

Never met a professor with such a blatant disregard for his students. Not only that, he encourages his students to drop his class if they aren't doing well..yeah, 'great' attitude. Ignores any questions students may pose individually, and clearly has a superiority complex. Can't pace himself either...pretty much the worst prof I've ever had.

Awful. Just awful. Doesn't curve, asks questions that have nothing to do with what he taught in class. Marks like students were Hitler's offspring. Avoid at all cost. Do not under any circumstance think that you will do good in this course, and avoid the temptation to take any course with this guy.

BAD! He talks and writes very little of what you need to know. If you don't write down everything he says, good night on your test. Tests are INSANELY LONG. Cant be completed in 50min. The course has no text the 2020 text really is useless. Makes you wonder why no course kit yet. SAVE YOUR LIFE and take this course with Potvin.

He seems to love the subject and enjoy teaching it. The problem is that he teaches it assuming everyone already knows the subject. You have very little chance of doing well unless you read the text ahead of time and do all questions.

Very nice person. Will ask any questions. Make sure you don't come before test! Otherwise can spend an hour to explain one question only. Very good lectures. Took Chem2020 was horrible. 3-rd year --like someone different!
