Comment:

I took Denton for the second time and 2/2, he did it again! Once again, the best professor I've ever had. His WI class is very challenging, so my grade didn't come easily, but the information was both interesting and life-changing. It wasn't a ton of work, just a lot of (hard) reading, but he's very helpful outside of class. Love this guy so much!!

Comment:

As a history major, I can say that Denton's HIST/REL 222 class is the hardest history class I've had thus far. This class requires ALOT of reading and writing since it is Writing Intensive. Denton gives great feedback on assignments, but he acts arrogant sometimes since he's so knowledgeable w/ religion. To get an A, get ready to work your butt off

If you don't take Professor Denton, you are making a horrible mistake! He is the best professor I have ever had! Funny, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, etc. His lectures are amazing and everything you need to know is in the lectures so DON'T MISS CLASS! I'm taking another one of his classes next semester because I love him so much!!! TAKE HIS CLASS!!

Comment:

Highly recommend this class. Had to take this class and wasn't looking forward to it at all. I'm not a religious person and it never interested me until I took this class. Eric has an amazing personality and made class fun. By the end of the sem, this was my favorite class. Recording lectures are helpful. Make sure to participate in forums!

I attended this class not really caring for it, left loving it. I wish I could of taken it during a normal semester. This class has a lot of reading, but its extremely interesting, and necessary for the exams. The instructor its by far my favorite instructor in the entire campus. This class is a must for everyone, you will thank me later.

Comment:

Awesome professor. Only goes over the main religions of the world (Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Ancient Hawaiian Religion). Really makes you think about how religion started and the way that it impacted our society. Only 3 exams most of the things on it are in his lectures so you have to come to class but its worth it.

Im currently in his class and am really enjoying myself. Dentons lectures are extremely engaging, interesting and fun to listen to. I genuinely look forward to his class and would recommend it to anybody. I think showing up to class is important, as well as keeping up with the exam wordlists provided. I have a total academic brain crush on him.

Only two essays to write. Even though your English grammar is not perfect, he would give you full credit. He makes class really fun and interesting. Exams are all online and can be taken at home. Writing an essay count as your extra credit worth like 15 points. Only thing that he strict about is participation of is online discussion forums.

You'll do fine without reading assigned text & perfect attendance. Learn the vocabulary, write the papers (3 total), contribute to the discussion forum, and have the ppts, vocabulary lists, & Google open during your exams (all online). Was absent for a month and got a high B in the course. He's great at answering questions and leading discussions.

Strict about online forum participation (forget to post for a week and you'll be shut out of the system for that unit), VERY engaging lectures, option for extra credit. 10/10 would recommend! Only two brief (4-5 pages) papers to write.

He does lecture all class but they are not boring. He can make religion sound interesting and even makes jokes about somethings. There are some readings, but on the bright side there is no textbook to pay for. Tests are online and he gives a good amount of time even if it may sound intimidating.

makes class fun and interesting, learned a lot from this teacher. No tex book, STUDY his notes which were downloaded once he posts . Make sure you attend all lectures, covers a lot per lecture. You don't need to read any text book but You can get behind if u miss lec. Made class interesting too, really enjoyed and would def recommend.

Took this class as a history credit, I wasn't really interested in the subject at all. But Professor Denton tried to make the course interesting by his lectures (he's hilarious and gets really into what he's teaching). Tests are online, but very difficult if you don't read any of the online articles that were assigned. Just do the work!

I loved this class! i was always entertained and kept interested on the topic. he explains very well and easy to understand. very important to be nuetral otherwise you might get stuck or be uninterested. 2 papers (doesn't even have to be perfect in grammar or to be in essay form and still get a perfect score.. just amazing!) STUDY AND UNDERSTAND.

Absolutely one of my favorite teachers ever! What an awesome class! There is no book to purchase because he provides all the resources. His slides and lectures are so engaging and he has a great sense of humor! He really modernizes the material in a fun and motivating way. I would love to take another class of his again. Totally recommend him!

I just took Eric's summer session of Religion 150 and I loved it. I believe everyone needs to take this class just to educate themselves on the world and its religions. He is a very passionate teacher and will grab your attention with his lectures. I learned a lot and I ended up getting an A. Take this class if you need the credit.

Eric is hilarious! Lectures are easy to follow, take notes. Lots of readings, just to give you a better understanding (I've never read but still ended up with a 88%). NO HOMEWORK. Just make sure to study the terms for the exams. There's a prepost test, remember the pre test so you can study for the post test (exact questions). Awesome prof. MUST!
