She is a good professor! She really helps you if you don't understand. You do have oral exams, written exams, online homework, attend a cultural activity, and a few projects but it is manageable. She does give extra credit as well. Take her!

Professora Alonso is amazing! I did not know anything but hola and Bueno Diaz before coming into her class and now I understand how Spanish works and can actually carry on small convo. You will not be an expert, but hey, it is 101. This professor makes the class very fun, she has an awesome personality. She doesn't mind answering questions, so ask!

Lectures are confusing because she will write things on the board and not explain things clearly. Her handwriting is very hard to read. The workbook and online homework doesn't prepare you enough for quizzes and tests. Participation feels forced upon. She doesn't manage her time when giving lectures.

Solid Spanish teacher! She is patient and laid back but does expect you to be respectful and try. Every day in her class was energetic and positive. I loved her energy and atmosphere for the class. Don't be afraid to ask questions! She uses Spanish AND English to help making understanding easier. I highly recommend her!

Honestly, i believe there are better Spanish teachers. Her class consists of mostly English speaking. You can do whatever you want and she doesn't care. Her class is an easy A but you learn very little. She also procrastinates with her grades. If you actually want to learn the language, don't take her.

Professor Alonso is very helpful, funny, and kind. She tries her best to keep the class interested. If you ever need help, don't hesitate to ask her. The workbook is required along with the access code. Her class was difficult for me because I knew nothing about the Spanish culture and language. However, I worked hard and earned an A.

This is my favorite teacher this semester! She is really friendly and approachable and has no problem helping students if they need it. She makes class really interesting especially because she's traveled all over Latin America and teaches you all about the cultures and her experiences. She's hilarious and class is never boring with her!

I wouldn't take her. If anything take her sister's class. I didn't like her teaching skills. She wasn't very clear on what needed to be done. Taking the class online if it's available would've been better since the professors have to specific on what they want you to do

I got a bad impression from her. Her tests were pretty easy and there really is not a lot of work assigned. A different Spanish Professor would be better for any student. All the learning was from all the movies I watched in her class.

Shes amazing! If you know spanish she will not allow you to take her 101 course, which is good because its for beginners! our class is super fun, we're always leaving the class with smiles on our face. Shes so funny and pretty, and nice! if you ask a question she'll answer it as well as she can! i reccomend her to EVERYONE!!! (non spanish speakers)

This class has a lot of work, but the assignments were NOT clear. Prof. Alonso seemed to let students constantly disrespect her. People talked non stop during class, which made it hard to concentrate. People would cheat and be obvious about it. Id recommend taking a different Prof. I never wanted to go to class b/c it felt like being in high school

Very easy for smart students. There isn't anything "sophisticated" or high level. This is for junior high; can play games and have some fund but don't expect anything substantial. You can learn the irregular verbs on your own and just Ace the class with minimum effort.

I expected more of this teacher who used to be good. Over the years, however, she has been changing to average to below average. It has happened with those teachers who get tired of teaching. It also comes with age and it's normal lack of enthusiasm, energy, and bad mood with students who know less than those who repeat 101, three or for times.

She could be better but does not try too hard, except with those who are native Spanish speakers. I don't see the point of having teachers from Spanish speaking countries who made no effort to learn Spanish and who cannot even boast of being bilingual, much less trilingual. The class was a monumental waste of time.

She's not bad and does care for those who already know Spanish well. But when she has to give an explanation in English she freaks out. It is hard to understand why those Spanish teachers are so demanding with English speakers, when in fact, they can't speak English very well despite the fact that they've been decades in the US. Live & learn...
