Prof Kissel is such a genuinely kind professor. She really cares about student success and is willing to help all of her students. Assignments are a little vague but I think she does it to give students some wiggle room. She is a lenient grader but provides phenomenal feedback on papers. Take her if you get the chance.

sweetest professor, actually cares about students. very approachable and gets to know all of her students. gives great honest feedback. homework is bearable, small writing assignments may be due for every class. attendance is graded, although shes not a stickler about being on time. she understands if things come up. would recommend!

I absolutely LOVE Francia! She's one of the kindest professors I've ever had. As long as you are willing to put in an average amount of effort, you will get at least a B. She's really good about spreading out big assignments so you do them in smaller chunks over time so you don't get overwhelmed. Also is super open to helping during office hours!

Very nice and helpful! Not too tough of a grader at all (still expect to try hard to write a good paper obviously). The work load was very fair (it's a bit of a slow-moving class) and she cuts you breaks a lot. Overall this was a great class to fulfill the requirement and she's a really sweet person, highly recommend.

While she does not give clear directions, the feedback she gives is phenomenal. Plenty of time to finish papers that were not too long. All in all, the feedback and help from her helped me become a better and more confident writer.

Francia was a great professor, though I feel that my strong writing background helped in her course. Prof. Kissel was very kind and lenient with grading. She was understanding of deadlines. She graded our class on a point scale, so you could choose what assignments you wanted to do. If you have a strong background in writing, you'll be fine without the textbook (don't even buy it) and with minimal outside assistance.

The class that I took with her was a required freshman success seminar. The class itself was boring, but Francia really made the experience much more interesting. She was always kind, helpful, and really enthusiastic about what she was doing.

Francia is a terrific teacher!! She has a great enthusiasm for English that will make you enthusiastic about it as well :) If you are taking English W130 or W131 make sure you get her as a professor!!! I think she also does advanced writing courses as well.

Fracia is tremendous. She cares about your success and is very willing to help you, so there is really no excuse not to do well in her class. She's a very sweet person and easy to approach.
