He is very experienced and an excellent instructor. He was the first finance professor that I had who actually brought meaning to the stuff we were learning. He is extremely passionate and is really good at helping you understand the material. Note, he cares more about understanding the theory than the math on the exams. Also, no phones!

By far the best professor I have had throughout university. Very knowledgeable and excellent at explaining the concepts. Is very clear on what he expects from students and exams are very fair. Respect his classroom rules and he will respect you. 10/10 would take again. I only wish he taught more courses at the undergraduate level.

Comment:

I've been thoroughly impressed by most professors I've had in finance but Felipe stands out, his delivery of the material is engaging and he is always willing to clarify. One word of advice, he views looking at your phone during lecture as heresy of the highest order, keep it in your bag.

Study the slides, glance through the text and practice all the listed problems at least once he provided before exams. The lecture is well organized, flow smoothly, and he gives enough hints about the homework to assist you get more than 90. Do not hesitate to ask questions, he technically will tell you the correct method for the assignments.

Felipe is arguably the best prof I have ever had. His lectures are extremely helpful, he teaches very well, and is very clear on what he expects you to know. He is also a nice person, but if you cant put away or hide your phone for class, prepare to be embarrassed by him. You can learn a ton from taking this course. Best course/prof.

Awesome prof. He really helps you understand the material. probably the best finance prof i've ever had. His exams are hard, beware of cases studied. But they are reasonable if you do the tb practices.

Comment:

Great proffessor, posted great notes and held a very interesting lecture. Was able to apply theory to assigned case studies. Challenging exams, but not unreasonably so. I only used the textbook for the questions and didn't read a single page of it otherwise and pulled off an A-. Pay attention in class and master the notes and you should do fine.

Comment:

Felipe brings Latin heat to the finance world. The prof has great mix of style and substance and makes the class intelligently interesting and challenging. The class is well structured and organized to ensure you come out understanding options and futures markets. Felipe uses text book and real world examples to teach. MUST TAKE FIN course!!!
