Hilarious! One of my favorite classes. Interesting to listen to, makes everyone want to get involved. Helpful if you need it. Dont be terrified of him the first day of class, dont txt or sleep during class either or youll wish you never went haha.

The most amazing man on the planet. Hilarious. Good taste in wine, beer and Chinese food. If you don't find him funny, it's probably because you aren't smart enough to understand. He loves being hated. Never, ever call him Frank. Changed my life. He is the only person I look up to.

Fr. Francis Xavier Ryan, S.J. is such a baller! He loves to bust chops, so I wouldn't take him if you're thin skinned. He's pretty demanding, but you learn a lot, so it's really worth the work. Expect to participate a lot in class and read very closely. One of my favorite profs at JCU so far.

The best professor I have ever had through four years at Carroll and including the brilliant professors at my graduate school. It is NOT easy, but he is fascinating and amazingly intellectually gifted. He teaches like he is telling you a fascinating story, not like he's forcing you to memorize facts.

father ryan is awesome! sure i slept in his class every single day but he never cared or penalized late work and he graded easily;also if you need an extension on a paper go find him at the bar in pizzazz and have a drink and a smoke with him!

Hard to follow old man who favors the female gender. I had 2 papers and 3 tests the entire year and I felt that he grades fairly easy. I would not recommend this teacher on the basis that he is unclear and expects the students to remember EVERY detail.

extremely hard tests/quizzes and papers. if you're used to pulling off easy a's, don't take this class. it's pretty interesting though and he's a funny guy. (well fit for teaching the subject)

Unclear, not funny and gives very hard tests. Also grades very hard. If you take him, be ready to take notes like you never have before because he uses the smallest details in his tests. You have to read a lot also. Overall, not a good teacher.
