Great, easygoing teacher. Encourages group discussions. Hates lectures with a passion. Shows a lot of films. Loved this class because it touched on everything: humanities, philosophy, American history, religion, political science and economics. Very flexible schedule as well.

Great teacher and great guy. Awesome class as long as you have a good group. Do the reading and you're all set! Takes a genuine interest in his students if they take an interest in the subject! Would totally take another course with him!

Comment:

Very nice and helpfull. Requires hard work but an A or a B is very possible. It is alot of reading, but some of it (Barack Obama's autobiography) was interesting. Attendance and class discusions are required but are relevant to the work. One of the better professores at KSC.

Comment:

Prof. was very interested in subject (USA in 1950's). Big on getting dialogues going. Always helpful and encouraging. Wanted everyone to learn and do well - gave many chances to revise papers. Recognized hard work and didn't hesitate to praise. If you want to learn, you'll like him well.

Really nice teacher, expects alot, but recognizes the effort. I thought he was more than fair, not too easy or hard, and treats everyone with respect. Class discussions were big with him, and he really liked to get to understand the student's perspectives. One of the best profs I've had at KSC.

NOT the class to take during summer session. A lot of reading, (6 books), 2 major papers and 2 exams. Very tough on grading.
