Professor Padgett is incredibly kind and one of those professors who understands how much college students have going on in their lives. If you buy the textbook and use the quizlets you will do really well. His tests are manageable if you just study the cases and terms until you have a good handle on then. Hes the best!

Comment:

Dr. Padgett is very smart, and he cares about his students. No textbook, but 100% buy his $10 study guide at the beginning of the year. You will have little homework and, if you have the study guide, you honestly don't have to pay much attention in class. However, the grade is mostly comprised of 4 tests. Only take if you're a good test-taker.

Padgett is the sweetest man! He gives you a study guide and the beginning of the term which you basically need to fill in with your notes to do well. Allow lots of studying time before the tests because there is so much material. The final is cumulative and you aren't allowed a cheat sheet (other classes are - a loss for us) so study hard!

Padgett is a fabulous professor for Media Law. He makes the class engaging and entertaining but also informational. His tests are totally fair if you study the amount he suggests. Put in the effort and time and you'll do well in his class.

Padgett is truly a wonderful prof. Everyone hypes up media law, but honestly, it was one of my favorite classes in the com school. At the start of the semester, Padgett gives you study guides with terms and cases to study, so you really just have to fill in an outline with your notes. You will need to study, but all the information is there for you

Test are easy, but there is a lot of information to memorize in Media Law. Must leave plenty of time to study. Took over the summer- highly advised*** (worth the extra tuition cost) Class was M-Thus 1:30-3:30 for 4 weeks, less class time than a Winter Term.

I LOVE PADGETT TAKE HIM FOR MEDIA LAW. He's seriously so #amazing. You have to study for his tests but if you do so, the information is straightforward enough to be #blessed. He's also hilarious and such a lil grandpa I just wanna have him come to my house for Christmas dinner and buy him novelty ties for his birthday. Call him Commissioner Gadget.

George is such a nice guy. Always in a cheerful mood. He's very funny and makes clever comments. The tests are really not that bad if you complete the study guides and actually look them over, for the span of a few days. Don't cram your studying into 1 or 2 nights because there is too much information to remember. He's a very fair grader. Take him!

Padgett is a great professor. Media law is not an easy subject, nor is it terribly exciting to everyone, but he clearly communicates what is expected, and holds you accountable, as you should be.

Not gonna lie, I wanted an easy A in ML&E. I found out I should've taken Tomlin or Evans because they test on general ideas, whereas Padgett tests on specific terms and court cases. The terms were ok, but there were about 40 court cases per test and the final was cumulative. There were 4 exams & 3 projects. Good class, would've liked easier tests.

Padgett is the man!!! I wasn't interested in taking this class at all, and it turned out to be one of my favorite classes at Elon. He is super nice and very interesting, I definitely advise taking him for media law!!

Absolutely loved it! I was dreading media law from what I had heard but he made it fun and interesting. It was nowhere near as bad as I had thought it would be and he's very helpful and understanding!!

Overall I recommend him. However, Media Law class has a lot of annoying assignments that aren't really helpful/beneficial whatsoever. Don't bother buying the ethics book, it's never used! And he doesn't incorporate any corporate/strategic major concepts into this class at all even though its required for that major but whatever, he's a nice guy.

Padgett is the coolest guy he encourages debate in his classes which makes me more interested in the topic. I didn't think i was interested in anything law-related and after this class i'm thinking about law school. i've heard he's the best teacher to take for media law & ethics too.

He's a good teacher, make's media law as interesting as it can be. the class is hard but it's mostly memorization of cases and the tests aren't actually that bad. The final is cumulative and there is one individual/group presentation at the end but no big papers.
