Comment:
Dr. Grey is very interesting, scatter brained and fun in lecture. She worked hard on her lectures and makes them interesting. Her weekly quiz over the previous material were difficult but she grades fairly keeping in mind that she makes it extra difficult. Participate and see her in the office - you'll get an A

This is the second class I've taken with Dr. Gray. As others have said she is cearly passionate about her work and I have gone to her with questions for other anthro classes. Gives weekly quizzes instead of tests which takes getting used to. Do the readings every week or you won't pass. Requires a lengthy paper, but is very willing to help.

I dont know if she woke up one day and thought she was qualified to teach nutrition but I have an masters degree biochemphysiology and she doesnt know any chemistry, physiology or nutrition. Hell the TA for the course, he knew more than she did. Do not take with this instructor if you have any science background.

She's a wonderful professor. She's passionate and knowledgeable about her subjects. She's really difficult though. If you don't enjoy reading, you probably won't have a great time. However, she's hilarious, caring, and so interesting. She's someone I still go to for advice or help with my Anthropology classes. Overall, take her class to meet her.

Her "guidelines" for her papers are unclear and she belittles any question-asking but expects you to know exactly what she wants.

I've taken 3 classes with Dr.Gray now, I think she is fabulous. Very smart, but can be scatter-brained (last week she just forgot about class) Overall she has taught me so much. She restructured her classes. No more tests, but weekly quizzes and a final paper. Her classes are mostly biology based; if you aren't used to it, this will be tough.

Comment:
Gray is extremely arrogant, unprofessional, and arguably unqualified (her undergrad degree is in theater). She was unprepared for and miserable in grad school and thinks everyone should be. Absolutely do not take a class from her if you know more than a little biology or are male - she's extremely intimidated by and defense toward both.

Horrible Teacher. The class was Human adaptation, but all she did was brag about her "African feild work" its more of a grammar class then anthropology. i would never wish this teacher on my worst enemy. Theres alot of teacher to take besides her at KU.

Horrible teacher, She has no home internet and is only at school tues and thurs doesnt get emails. Hard material. Her essays she gives only has a small correlation to what you learn. Makes you feel dumb for asking reasonable questions. DO NOT TAKE!!!!!

I don't know how this woman became a professor. She can't teach and tests you on materials not found in lecture or the book.

I had her for 304 and LOVED it. I took her Anthro of sex class and both have been my favorite classes I've taken at KU. She's a passionate, energetic and insightful lecturer. She knows her stuff, but make sure you know yours! She doesn't let you slack off, at all. Be prepared to work your butt off, but it's worth it 100% !

This class is HARD. Go to class and go to discussion. I learned so much, she is such a great lecturer. This is not an easy A class, its for people who go to school to do crazy things such as learn.

Extremely difficult. Hardest class I have taken. Understand that to succeed in this class it takes an extreme commitment. The professor is eclectic, but does a great job teaching. You will be required to take your notes; nothing is provided as a back-up or replacement.

Not for the faint of heart. Dr Gray is very no-nonsense, but this is a college course with very very dense material so it is to be expected. Very eccentric lecturer, maybe a little intimidating but friendly. I would recommend this class, but only if you're willing to put in the work because it is NOT easy. Favorite class in college so far.

This was probably the biggest waste of my time at the University of Kansas. This professor cannot be asked questions, doesn't know the material, and will likely jump you if you call her on it. That and she tests you from material not covered in the lecture or text. I would strongly advise anyone not to take this course.

Too much info to learn the night before a test if your that kinda person. If you attend lab and go over your notes here and there you should do fine. She is a bit interesting, but it will keep you guessing.
