I thought this class would be more inspiring. Felt like an old fashioned perspective of feminism and she is not open to hearing other ideas besides her own. Easy homework, two exams, and two papers.

Her classes are super chill. She assigns readings in the textbook, but usually goes over it in class so you aren't required to read them. Participation is important, even if you just add on to something she's saying. She seems tough, but is sweet and approachable.

Super easy class, but boring. She just lectures all class and writes on the white board. Like literally the whole board. Then erases it all and starts over again. So very boring, but an easy A.

Georgia Platts is an inspiration. She truly cares about the material and she changed the way i look at gender among other stuff. Her lectures are fast- paced and passionate. Not to mention, she is really sweet! I go to a CSU now and this day I apply her perspectives to my life and her material helps me form new ideas for new classes. Take her.

Comment:

One of the easiest and thought-provoking classes I have ever taken. I see myself as a conservative but I really took a lot out of her lectures. Also don't buy the textbook since she tells you everything you really need to know in class. She's nice but if you don't agree with a lot of liberal ideas you might want to avoid this one.

Easy easy easy. Tests based on lectures not textbook. Actually you don't need the textbook at all because if there is anything important in them she lectures on it anyways. She takes a liberal stance but you have no right to whine about it because she says that outright on the first day and tells you and if it bothers you then drop!

She's very cool. She replies to emails very quickly and when you approach her after class, she's very welcoming and smiley... She's funny too! Especially when she's trying imitate stuff.

Her lectures were interesting and especially her blog I found very thought-provoking. She advocates a certain view, and though open to hearing differing opinions, she will challenge them. She definitely stimulated great class discussions.

Most interesting class I've taken so far. Tests are multiple choice and her lectures are extremely fun and entertaining. Thinking about switching my boring major after this class...this is so much more fun than computer science!

She's an easy teacher when it comes to class and education, but trying to get by the lecture is hard. She says she's not biased, but she definitely is. I find that people would state an opinion and she would not accept any of it and fight it off with her opinion or becomes sarcastic in accepting it.

I really enjoyed Platts. I think she is a lovely lady as well as a good instructor. Go to class and you'll get an A. Class in based on participation, two mid terms (multiple choice, YES!), and two essays. I would recommend her. I wasn't able to make a good amount of classes for personal reasons and she was very understanding.

Great professor and great class. She allows a lot of class discussion which helps the ideas and material flow. I was never bored in class and got a 'B' on everything and tried. Just try and you shall succeed. Go to class, only miss up to 2 to 3 classes because the lecture notes are REALLY important for the tests! Speak up in class!

The subject is interesting on its own and Dr. Platts just makes it all the more interesting. Be aware that she doesn't waste any time though; you have a paper due the second week of class and if you forget it you're screwed for the rest of the quarter.

Great teacher, very friendly and gives clear and interesting lectures. Really enjoyed her class. She's very heplful if you need to catch up on work. TOTALLY recommend this class to everyone. Fun topics, group discussions, enjoys hearing other points of view.

pretty easy class. graded by 2 essays, midterm, final, participation, (20% each) and ec. all the answers from the exams are worded exactly the way she lectured so no need to study with the reader. she's pretty nice and if you participate in the discussions, she'll somewhat favor you. topic was actually very intriguing. she laughs nervously at times
