Normally I am an A student, but this class changed that. Stacy is hard, confusing, and sometimes gets upset with students if they don't know the answers. He is not very approachable.

I am an A student, but this class is extremely difficult. There are only quizzes and tests, no homework as a buffer. Instruction is at times confusing and other than a few examples in his course pack, you are on your own to study or find examples. Very hard class. Take this from someone else if you can!

Dr. Stacy is just about the sweetest old man ever. He's very passionate about literature and sitting in his class it's obvious he knows his stuff. It's also important to him that his students really learn all they can in his class. He's a tough paper grader, but gives you a chance to edit before turning in a final copy.

I transferred to UW and Stacy is my favorite prof. He is hilarious and tough, but fair. He teaches crystal clear with examples. Ref to text daily. HW is simple. I had #2 top grade in class, and still received a A-. The thing that got me on tests were dates, events, people in history etc. I learned more in this class than any other to this day.

Spent significant chunks of class time telling stories about his time in DeKalb, Illinois, particularly at the start of class. I didn't pay 30 Grand to hear profs reminisce about their pasts; and his stories weren't relevant to the course material. He would mark you absent if you showed up a few minutes late and missed his stories.

I took him for both English Lit. II and Shakespeare Early Plays. He's very into the works and plays and gets intense at times. There are occasional pop quizzes in lit, so make sure to do the reading! Reading in Shakespeare is also good (not skimming) as the quote quizzes are a bit hard. Great teacher, though. One of my favorites.

Surprisingly hard for a 101 class. He's very smart but he's very hard. I tried my hardest and could only pull a C and I usually get A's and B's. Get ready to read read read.

Stacy's lectures are great. He's good at giving you a historical context for the readings. His quizes and tests aren't that hard, but he's very strict when grading, so you might not get the grade you think you deserve. Still, I've heard many people say that he's their favorite teacher ever.

Dr. Stacy is great. He loves to talk about sex in Ancient Lit. His quizes are easy if you do the reading, the final is fairly tough. Interesting lectures, very passionate about his teaching.
