I highly recommend this class. Gus Pappas is an interesting teacher and he really does know what he is doing. No, it isn't easy but with his guidance you can do it! I became an excellent writer thanks to him. You will not be sorry.

What ever you do, don't take his class! Unless your a completely amazing writer and know exactly what he wants to read. His notes on essays are impossible to read, and he is not helpful with what he wants from you. Dry humor, which I wouldn't mind if it were in fact humorous.

AMAZING teacher. but only take him for 1B if you are sure you are a really good writer. he can be very opinionated and tries to sway students to his opinions but he forces you to think really deeply about subjects that may not normally fascinate you. he's a very fair grader. and he will make changes to assignments if the class asks for it.

Pappas was a pretty good teacher overall. He was funny, and has lots of stories to tell. But if you dont like being interrupted while youre talking, then... he might be a nuisance to you. He likes to talk over you. He has a few fairly hard papers, but gives lots of time for them. He expects a lot from you, and attendance is mandatory. Not much hw.

Due to respectful, in my mind, he always the best of the best for overall professors in the college. He so good in literature and english. I really love the way he teaching so cool. It's funny to hear people say he gives nothing but c's on papers. I got nothing but A's and I wrote them the day before they were due. He has a great sense of humor, is a little opiniated politically but we need a little of that. This is college, learn to think. Overall I recommend him.

Just don't take him. he is a nice guy but doesn't really have interest in teaching, doesnt give you any commentary back on your essays. We had a whole bunch of ppl in our class and all of them dropped there was like 7 guys and one girl left.

All I can say is that he is a odd fellow... but a good teacher over all... he really got me to think about alot of difficult issues and decide where i really stand. You can never tell when he is joking or not though, and some of his jokes, i never got lol.... Overall, I enjoyed him as a teacher, and I would recomend him.

He really makes you think about the subject matter. Always the devil's advocate. He cracks a lot of jokes that make you laugh, but you aren't always sure at what. A little tough on the grading so make sure you don't procrastinate with the essays.
