Jac is the most judgmental person ever! I worked so hard while being at his program and told me to my face I didnt have any work ethic ! He then started saying comments in class About everything I said! He screamed at me, and didnt scream at other students, and they made the same mistakes as me! Very arrogant and judgmental person!

Not a good teacher, he belittled his students and seems to have a constant drive to ensure you know your inadequacies. As a voice teacher he's good for bass and baritones, but his tenors rarely come out strong.

Jacque Trussel is one of the most brilliant people I have EVER had the chance to meet and work with. The way he works is simple... if you do the work then you will have a great relationship and he will be one of the most helpful people in your career. If you don't do the work and slack off, then your life will be hell. It's that simple.

What can I say about this marvelous teacher that hasn't been said already? This man is a moron. He is also incredibly abusive to the students. UGH. Where do I even begin? He is very arrogant and hard to work with. He has been known for his temper. He's SO concerned with making his school a top conservatory programs, nothing else matters. he only uses the voices he likes. gives roles to his own students. lets his own (and his wife's) students get away with murder. he maade my life hell.

I've always liked his voice, but the man is nearly impossible to work for. He's arrogant, mean, and harsh. Yes, so it the opera world. However, what young singers need are TEACHERS who are willing to bring out the best in them. Unfortunately, I've seen Jacque hurt a lot of good people. Jacque is a good voice teacher. Most people he is intolerable with do something that they shouldn't. He has screamed at me and made me feel bad. I quit school partial due to him. However, I am glad he showed me how the singing world is truely like: a world that is not all fun and games. I still perform, but it is not a career for me.

I'm a non-major, but I have been classically trained. Jacque can be confrontational, loud, demanding and intimidating, but it's worth it to work under such talented direction and care. I come back every semester, no matter how much he screams. And usually he has good reason.

Ok, so he's a big fat jerk. He never said he wasn't. I disagree with a lot of his opinions on choral music, but as far as opera goes, there's no one better, except perhaps his lovely wife, Bonnie Hamilton. You'll be all set once you get past the tantrums.

This man practically ruined me as a singer and performer. When I got sick he told me to give up singing completely because my cords wouldn't heal. Just for the record, I got better and am singing better than I ever have before so take that Jacque!
