Comment:
Professor Mohr is very respected at UO and takes his career very seriously. He is absolutely a lecturer, but a good one at that. Half our class failed the midterm, so you definitely must try. He's clearly been teaching forever, knows his stuff. I took this class for elective, and I've enjoyed it! Consider him for sure. Don't be late for class.

The best history professor at U of O. Old-school approach to lecture means you sit down, shut up, and listen for 80 minutes. That's why I love it. Mohr is a highly respected member of the academic community and can rock the hell out of a bow-tie.

Although Professor Mohr is very knowledgeable about American Medical History, I did not find his lectures stimulating and he is very old school in his teaching methods. He's not very approachable either. I will not be taking another class with him

Comment:
Professor Mohr IS one of the most intelligent professors that I know. I recently took a history 410 class in which there were actually 4 professors teaching each module, his was on the reconstruction period. The class was challenging but extremely fair, I believe everyone should take this class if they get the chance to.

I really enjoyed taking the history of US Medicine with Professor Mohr. The lecture was engaging and he was passionate about his materials. The workload was very manageable and I learned a lot. I would definitely take another course from him.

I only did independant research with Dr. Mohr and never had the chance to see him in the class room. As an advisor on my undergrad thesis he was the most invaluable asset I could have had. He insured the rigor of my paper in all its dimensions and I left feeling pride in my own accomplishment as a result. Wish I could work with him again.

Professor Mohr must be one of the most intelligent instructors on the topic of the Civil War. His lectures are very clear, organized, and easy to follow. He makes sure everyone is on the same page and is a phenomenal lecturer. I suggest taking a class from him no matter what the subject.

James Mohr is an incredible professor. By far the best lecturer I've ever had. He is the only man I've ever seen get a standing ovation on the last day of class. He was just that good. He has wit, intelligence, and a way to explain things easily. You have got to take a class with him.

Amazing lecturer, best Prof I've had. He knows exactly what he's talking about and if you engage him will give you so much more history on the subjects that he can't, unfortunately, fit in the lectures.

A dedicated professor who made sure we all knew we'd either come out of the class knowing our American History or with a bad grade, Mohr taught his class efficiently and with rigor. An excellent professor, and if I can take another course from him I will.
