He goes very quickly. Notes are word-for-word out of the book and doesn't provide any additional explanation. Very little in the way of feedback, as there were no graded assignments so you didn't know where you'd stand or what he'd expect from you when you got to the midterms/exam.

Gives good lectures and examples. If you struggle in math, be warned : he is a BIG speeder upper toward the end and you'll likely put a lot of work into studying if you want that 75-85. Not helpful outside of class, not available, but follow the lectures and do examples and he's fine. Watch the final exam - usually a death blow to your mark.

I took Jay Adamssons math 111 in 2003. I think hes made a turnaround in 2004 by the sounds of the comments. His math class was one of the worst math classes i've ever taken. Even though I did well in the course, too many notes, no availability outside of class, and not very clear

I hate math and only took this course because it was required. Thanks to Dr. Adamsson, it wasn't too bad. He gives great notes and fairly easy assignments. If you can do the assignments, you'll do great on exams. I found him a little shy, but still helpful. Student success is important to him.
