I now know to never take another class from him again. His grading criteria is terrible and doesnt make any sense. Bad communication and all he does is teach us with videos. In general hes not a great person. He makes the classroom an uncomfortable environment. It was not a great semester with this guy.

If I could go back in time, I would've never chose this class. He's a very tough grader for someone who never majored in the science field. I found almost impossible to get an A in the class even though I spent many hours in each assignment. He will not teach, in fact, he will play a video for almost the entire class. DO NOT take this class!

This class was less about environmental stewardship and more about critical thinking. He grades hard but if you put some thought into your answers you'll be fine. Don't regurgitate info make it your own. If you ask him for feedback on assignments he will give it. No its not an "easy" class but I enjoyed it. We had good discussions.

He started out the semester saying that he has no background in the class. His grading criteria is not clear at all! It is impossible to get full credit on any essay assignment. He will lecture or put on a video for the whole class period. His grading is very inconsistent and daily attendance is required. I would not recommend!!!!!!!

Course outlines and expectations are vague and unclear. He's a very tough grader. Even if you follow the corrections he suggests, something else is usually done wrong. Do not expect an easy A. He makes you fill out a daily attendance report which is pretty pointless and you have to show up to class. Expect your grade to decrease little by little.

Brother Hamblin was awesome! I was sick a lot during the semester and he worked with me to try and get my grade as high as possible. Knows his stuff and makes it about the food, not the science behind it. I would take this class again for sure!

PROS: He knows his stuff, Every friday can be a feast! Fun and rewarding! 40 girls : 4 guys! CONS: somewhat long lectures, a lil stressful. TIPS: understand the rotation schedule, print out all labs at beginning of semester, MISE EN PLACE (preparedness) is KEY

Brother Hamblin was & still is one of my favorite teachers! He really loves the subject & cares about each of the students & their success. He doesn't take crap though but is honest & fair. Plus he has an awesome sense of humor. HIGHLY recommend him!

Brother Hamblin is such a nice man that cares about his students. His study guides can be a little vuage, but if you study what he tells you and come to every class you will get an A. He seems serious at first but he is very nice at heart. He teases you when he gets to know you, don't take his expressionless face for harshness that's just him.

Brother Hamblin is a great man and cares about his students. He teaches well and I learned so much even though I was very interested in cooking before. He acts a little serious when you first meet him but is very kind and friendly once you know him. His tests are very hard and his study guides are vague. He expects you to remember what you read.

Bro. Hamblin is great! I have learned so much from him. Sometimes he can be very intimidating but he is allways willing to help. He really has the students best interests at heart. He can be difficult, but if you really try in his class you can get an A and learn a ton. Great classes. I highly recommend CA 160!
