Comment:

Coherent lectures w/ chalkboard diagrams - very helpful for a complex topic. Has clear expectations and a forthright manner that may be intimidating initially, but she actually cares a lot and wants the best for her students. Also does neat research in Alaska.

The class was poorly organized and the course didn't follow the assigned textbook at all. You must attend class to pass and she won't tell you this. tests are not really based on the textbook material and it's important to take notes on her lecture. The lectures, however are atrocious. Poorly organized and she sighed before every lecture. Bad prof

Comment:

This was my absolute favorite class at William and Mary. She is extremely clear in her lectures and adequately prepares you for tests. Tests are directly based on lectures so attendance is crucial. There is a textbook but I never needed it (or even bought it).

Comment:

Professor Zwollo is one of the most unreasonable professors I have encountered thus far at W&M. She is unclear in her explanations as well as in her expectations. She does not care for students and her lack of help is astounding. You cannot ask any questions during an exam even if to clarify a question. DO NOT TAKE A CLASS OR DO RESEARCH WITH HER.

GREAT professor. Simplifies an extremely complicated topic. Great lectures though you must come to class, she doesn't post notes and she always uses the chalkboard. Tests are tough, but nothing outside of lecture material. Extra credit opportunities and in class exercises to prepare for exams. Highly recommend.

Her tests are based on lecture and she is very specific about what answers she is looking for. Also, she is very clear in lecture and goes over concepts slowly so you understand the subject better. There is no need to buy the book.

Comment:

Immunology - Zwollo is a really nice lady who knows a LOT about the subject, but doesn't do a great job of conveying it. Her lectures are very hard to follow and her tests are a major challenge, but then again, the material is inherently difficult. Take it if you're interetsed, but be prepared to work hard. Never skip class.

Pretty friendly, not moody. She did like the crazy multi choice style but dropped it after complaints. Tests reflected the key points from lecture and were usually straightforward, despite the complexity of the subj. Challenging, but very manageable class. In-class assignments pretty EZ. I took good notes, crammed before tests and pulled an A-

Comment:

I was very interested in the class before, but now regret that I ever took it. The reading isn't that bad, but she's unclear in class and makes interesting material boring. Tests are a disaster. She likes MC with "circle ALL and ONLY that apply." Only 5 A's on first exam. Don't take the class.

You will learn a lot in her class...and she will answer questions...but she's kind of moody so watch out. Sometimes she can be the nicest person...and sometimes she's not... (I got an A in her class...so this is not speaking from bitterness).
