Its a freaking shame that he's not here anymore. Jim is the entire reason I decided to pursue a Creative Writing concentration. If you are willing to put yourself into you writing, he will be as invested in your writing as you are. If you try to B.S. your way through, he can't be bothered. USI is less for letting him go.

Jim is an amazingly cool teacher. I liked his class a lot. The assignments werent ridiculous and he regularly gives u weeks off (which rocks). He makes it a lot of fun and interesting. Ive learned a lot. I would recommend his class to anyone.

While Graham is an absolutely amazing writer McGarrah is an amazing professor, not to say that he is not a good writer but he is helpful, laid back, and yeah so what if he tries to make you talk. He is funny as**** and very real. If you have an interest and talent in writing you will not regret taking him.

Him and Matthew Graham are two profs that I can never warm up to even though people seem to love them. I really don't understand how my classmates find him funny and I certainly don't appreciate him trying to tell lame jokes in class while we could be learning something instead...

I know there are ppl out there who just LOVE him, but i don't know...he's a little too much for me. If you like to talk a lot in class, then I think you'll enjoy him, but if you're more of a quiet person in class, he gets very annoying. But helpful and easy to talk to.

He is the coolest teacher i have ever had! if you have any chance to take his class, just take it. His class was so much fun and easy. He let you go early at least 20 min. every time. He is so funny and he is like one of your friends. I loved him so much!! No finals and easy HW..

He is so entertaining. He's sarcastic and kind of a smart-ass. He tries to get your attention by relating to everyday topics and by having us do creative work. The homework load is insanely easy, aside from some essays.
